I was 40, found it myself, 2 tumors in left breast under 2cm, also DCIS, bilateral mastectomy, dose-dense AC/Taxol chemo, skipped radiation, now on Tamoxifen, waiting to see what will happen to my periods ... had my reconstruction surgery, growing my hair, feeling blessed to have found so much support

I had just turned 45 one month before I was diagnosed. I found a lump under my left arm, and knew I was in trouble. I was diagnosed Dec. 22,2006, and I've finished chemo, had bilateral mastectomy with expanders, and radiation. I have the expanders out, and implants put in on Feb. 13.

Hi, I was 63 and am now 72. The reason most of the responders are young is simple. People over 55 don't usually use computers! The median age for diagnosis is 63. But those gals just don't get the net.
It's such a shame, so much help for us here in our community.
Gentle hugs, Shirlann
