Delayed tram-groin pain

I had a bilateral delayed tram flap reconstruction on 12/11.  Last night I started having groin pain in one leg.  Has anyone had this?  I have my first post-op visit tomorrow.

The pain post op has not been as bad as I expected.  The hardest part is trying not to "over do" anything.  I get cabin fever really bad.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Rachel

Have you possibly pulled a muscle?

Does the pain radiate down the back of your thigh? Is there redness and warmth? (Blood clot symptoms.)

Be sure to tell your doctor today!!!

I know exactly what you are talking about.  I had the same thing done 11/26  delayed bilateral TRAM in getting ready for the major surgery on 12/3.  For that week, my left groin had a pain that was hard to describe.  I would move a certain way that would drive me through the roof. The pain pills helped.   The pain will get better.  Anyway just to let you know it goes away after the major surgery.  No more groin pain at all, just now dealing with the healing with the overall surgery.

My thoughts and prayers are with you!

The "cabin fever" feeling stinks.  Good books, magazines, dvd's, or catching up on phone calls etc-- try to keep busy.  Remember you went through so much, that you wouldn't risk overdoing it, and compromising your reconstruction.

Definitely tell your PS about the groin pains.  I hope it gets better soon.

Hi Rferraris, I too live in Georgia and had a bilateral TRAM flap reconstruction in August. I had groin pain, especially when I cough, which first showed up on my right side and then eventually went away and is now on my left side. Did your pain go away? Did you ever find out what it was caused by?

    Any answers would be helpful.

    Thank you!
