Deb - (((((hugs))))) I look forward to the secret sisters exchange. It's going to be so much fun!!! BTW - did you see Margerie's post on the previous page? She had a good idea for your DH to pick the names that way you can also be surprised. When you get a chance, please send me your new address so I can send you a christmas card.
Kim - I hope you are feeling better. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love and hugs to all my sister.
-
Count me in baby...................!!
Thanks Deb- I am 1 week away from finishing herceptin. I was glad to have it, but am so freakin' done!!
Sorry about the added stress Deb- they sure don't make the process easy.
Holiday Hugs to you all (and what a cutie Sebastian is, almost makes me want another one!)<
Love,
Margerie
-
Woo hoo! Thanks, Odalys, I totally missed the post from Margerie! Sorry, Margerie
-I miss a lot of stuff these days.....
Ok, as I am writing this, Daniel is climbing up my back and laughing hysterically, so I can't seem to write much more.
LOVE the idea about having Greg do the names for us! Consider it done!
Love and prayers, Debbie -
Secret sisters are officially underway.....we'll send out an email tomorrow!!!!
-
I'm excited!
Thanks for the comments about Sebastian....Marg, no you don't want another one. He is so cute, but so much work. I still don't know how I did it.
His first birthday party is tomorrow, hard to believe time has passed so fast.
-
Wheeeee!!!!! I'm excited too!
Do you guys want to do a few gifts, or one "nice" one? I'm ok with either.
Greg had to run to Target for some discs for the video camera-we are having breakfast with Santa tomorrow! We will have to send out the email tomorrow (sorry!!! This is the second trip Greg has taken to Target in the last 3 hours!). Anyway, feel free to let me know how you guys want to do this, and we just have to do our best to send out the goodies by Tuesday or Wednesday so we can have them in time!!!!
Goodnight, (and happy birthday to little Sebastian!)Love and prayers, Deb
PS-I had my first experience tonight with the "two mommies, one toy on the shelf" issue. Daniel has been coveting the "Pat-pat Rocket" from Little Einsteins, and I asked a Target team member where it was, and just as she was pointing me to it on the shelf, another Mommy was picking it up. I gasped audibly (more like choked back tears!). She looked at me-the pitiful creature I was at that moment, and GOD BLESS HER, said, "Here, you take it." Oh, that could have been bad!!!!
Moral of the story-there are still good people in the world! Thank you, God! -
Hello sisters. I am looking forward to the secret santa/sisters exchange. Great idea Deb. I hope you and Daniel enjoy spending time with Santa tomorrow. Here is some holiday humor I thought you would enjoy....
-
Hi Sisters!
Anna, if you see this, please pm me with your email! I have the assignments ready, but Greg can't send the emails until I have yours (I swore I had it! Grr!).How 'bout we post our particulars here as a generic for everyone?
Also, do you guys mind my sending everyone's address with a mass email? That way, it can be a secret for all of us.
Finally, do you want to do one "nice" present, or a few small ones? Or, we can leave it up to you, and you can do it either way and surprise your sister!
Yay! I'm excited! This one should go much more smoothly than the Pink Ribbon Exchange (still wondering where the heck that is!!!).
Love and prayers, Deb
-
One other thing, Odalys-I just scrolled through the so-called list of my conversation history and did not find the exchange thread at all!!!! How weird......
Greg's picking on me from the other room, so I have to go defend myself......he and Daniel have been doing some male bonding today. They sat on the couch all day and lounged around! -
Deb - I think if we leave it up to each one of us to surprise our sister it would allow us to be creative. But, I am open to doing what the group wants. BTW - I have your Christmas card ready to go but don't have your new address. Please pm it to me.
Well, ladies my mom is back in the hospital. She has pneumonia now and they will be doing a gastroscopy tomorrow to see why she is not able to digest/tolerate any food. Her body is failing her and she is really ill. The docs are talking about sending her to a rehab center. It breaks my heart to see her so fragile. Ay....
Hugs,
-
Deb I emailed Tami and Melissa and here is what Tami had to say:
"I looked through the entire Moving Beyond Cancer forum and could not find it. Do you have any idea of what other forum it might have been in? Tami"
"I'm concerned that it may have been lost when we switched from the discussion boards to the community knowledge exchange.... If you or I do find it, I'll make it "sticky" so it can't disappear again. Let me know. I'm happy to help in any way I can.
Best, Tami, moderator "

Birthday boy
Sebastian with his other grandma and his daddy. She made his cake. Plus he had a tigger for his own to eat.
-
Sweet baby Sebastian!!
Odalys, I had one of the threads in the triple negative forum. I don't remember where I did the other one.
Ok, I'm going to send out an email to the Secret Sisters with everyone's address. I am assuming/hoping/praying it is ok that we all have each other's address.
Anna-I need your email and address! I don't know where it is. Did I originally have it in my box here at bc.org? I'm wondering if it got wiped out. I don't have it in my regular email and I was diligent about keeping those.
How's everyone's holiday preparations coming along?
Love and prayers, Deb -
Holidays are crazy!!!!!!!
-
Ok Secret sisters....I'm just going to bite the bullet and send an email with everyone's addy in it. I really hope this is ok with you all-I'm assuming it is since I haven't heard otherwise.
Oh, and my "particulars" are.....
I would love the Christina Aguilara (how do you spell?!) "Back to Basics, Colby Callat (right? Is that her name?) or Bon Jovi's new CD
Cute T-shirts (size XL)

Bath and Body Works is a rarity for me now that I am a wife and mommy.
I hope that gives some good ideas for my SS!!!
Ho Ho HO!!!
Love and prayers, Deb -
Love to all my sisters. Thanks for the tip, Odalys.
-
Yeah- got done with herceptin and just had my port out this afternoon. I couldn't believe it came out so easy.
Me- I would love anything (but cancer!!)
-
Margerie - congrats on getting that port out today; time to do the happy dance..
You must feel so liberated. I pray you will be dancing with NED for many, many years to come.
-
That is great news Marg! Did you have it done at the office or hospital....I'm about to break free from mine.
My expander is sore still, but I think I'm about to get there.
Hugs to you all
-
Love the happy dances! Too cute and a definite smile-maker!

I got this on another post, I wanted to share with you all.
Why Women Cry
A little boy asked his mother, 'Why are you crying?' 'Because I'm a woman,' she told him..
'I don't understand,' he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, 'And you never will.'
Later the little boy asked his father, 'Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?'
'All women cry for no reason,' was all his dad could say.
The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.
Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, 'God, why do women cry so easily?'
God said,
'When I made the woman she had to be special.
I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort.
I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.
I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.
I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.
I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.
I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.
And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed. '
'You see my son,' said God, 'the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair..
The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides.' God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference -
Mary Lou-I LOVE that. I'm going to print that one out.

It is with a very heavy heart that I am telling you that I got an email from Anthony (Kim's husband).
Kim went to her heavenly home last Thursday.
I just can't believe it. I'm so glad we got to speak on the phone, as short as the conversation was (she just sounded so tired and short of breath). We are going to miss her so very much.
Do you guys want to do something for her family? Like maybe we could all chip in and make a donation in Kim's honor to bc.org? I'm open to ideas.ML-so ironic that you posted about tears.
Love and prayers,
DebPS-it is because of Kim that I sign all my posts with "Love and prayers." She told me waaaaay back in the beginning that she liked that, and I have made a point to keep it that way ever since.
-
OMG I am devastated. I was just hoping she was not suffering this holiday season. At least she will be in peace now.
So sorry for her family. I can't even imagine. Thank you Anthony for letting us know. It must be terribly difficult. Kim was such a gracious, wonderful friend to all of us here. I will miss her!!
A donation in Kim's name would be a great idea. God bless you Kim. Until we meet again,
Margerie

OMG, I just got the news. I'm so glad I got to speak with her a few weeks ago. She was such a fighter. I will miss her so much. I'm so sorry, I just sent her a pewter angel inside her christmas card. She has forever touched my heart and I know she is sitting in heaven with all the angels. I'm so sad......
This is for you dear Kim...
Like a Sunbean...
A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam...
And for a brief moment, its glory and beauty belong to our world.
But then it flies on again,
and though we wish it could have stayed,
We feel so lucky to have seen it...
-Anonymous
We will miss you dear sister.

-
Today, I am thinking about Kim's little angels and how much pain they must be in. My heart aches for them.
Please say a prayer for them.
