Strontium for bone health?

Wondering if anyone is taking strontium for building bone and how you're doing with this supplement?

    If you take a look at the website for which you provide a link the studies claiming effectiveness were done with strontium ranelate but the product on the page is strontium citrate.  They are not the same thing.  Strontium interacts with several drugs and is contraindicated in people with blood clots and kidney problems.  If you plan to take it you should discuss it with a healthcare provider.

    Ann,

    Thank you for your input.  I did not notice the difference and it's odd that the company refers to studies unrelated to the actual ingredients.  Currently, I don't take any medications so that is not

    an issue, but certainly I won't be buying that brand.

    Here is more info scroll down to where they mention bone mets.  I take Dr Best strontium citrate.  My Dr. said it is a good or better subsitute than strontium ranelate.

    I really can't tell.  Will have to wait for a bone density to find out if it is working.  My Dr. said there is research out there that shows it to work better than fosamax.

    I've been using a Spinomed III.  Just came out in October.  I like it!  Seems to help the pain.  It is suppose to strenghten muscles that support the spine.  It is one of its kind.

    Have also worked with Sara Meeks, physical therapist who specializes in osteoporosis.  She teaches her method throughout the country and gave me the name of a physical therapist that lives in my town.  She's in Florida so I did a phone consult with her.  She rec the spinomed III.  More info:   http://www.sarameekspt.com/
