OK....today is the 2 year anniversary of my diagnosis with breast cancer.  I am kind of amazed to still be here!  Not only here, but NED....

I need the help of all you wordsmiths out there.  What should we call today?  I have used the word Cancerversary, but that almost seems to be celebrating the cancer, not the fact that it is now gone.

We need a word to mark these days......anyone want to take a shot at coming up with one??

    Hey Deb,

You are right ahead of me.  I will be 2 years on 1/22.  Let's see...some people say survivorship.  I also use the term cancerversary but when I say it out loud to non-cancer people they seem to feel awkward.  You know, people don't like to hear the word, (interject whisper) cancer.  I am trying to make one up but am having trouble.

How about badboobaversary?  lumplestiltskin day? canstravaganza?  boobstock? hooterrific? tittie tittie bang bang? I need help. Laughing

Whatever you call it, Deb:  I am so happy for you!!!  I do hope you find a more appropriate title soon though. My <insert alternate word for cancerversary here> is coming up in February.

Today I "celebrate" the finding of my lump (tumor).

For Thanksgiving I bought myself and "pink ribbon cake" to celebrate my upcoming ANNIVERSARY of my diagnoses.  I was dxd right after Christmas.  I just call it "anniversary."  By the way, the cake was delish.  My girls loved it.  AND, I thought for sure I had spent a lot of money on a cake that was going to be thrown away.  Nope.  They ate it over my pumpkin pie and pecan pie.  Does that tell you something?  LOL

Congratulations on this day and whatever word you choose to use.

I refuse to celebrate the worst day of my life...

I do celebrate each day that I am here and well. I am thankful for the advances in medical care that have created more long term survivors. I am saddened that there are still many women suffering from the agonies of Breast cancer.

So Deb I am celebrating two years minus one for you! Yeah!

    Fists up!
