Crap! Calcifications on mammo today
Comments
-
Hello,
Today is my birthday so like a dummy I scheduled my 'routine' mammo for today.
My husband was being a turd this morning, kiddo running late for school, so why did I think my mammo would be good?
They called me back for more images and magnified an area that showed 2 itsy dots (calcifications). Of course they don't give you any indication only that they will get the report to my breast surgeon.
I called the breast surgeons office and they said they probably won't know anything until they get the report right before my follow up next Wednesday the 12th. This sucks donkey dongs.
P.S. I had a clear MRI just a few months ago.
Anyone else have this?

Watson,
First of all, happy birthday! I've had calcifications on the right breast shown on the mammo but that was not the breast I got the cancer, so don't worry until you hear what the breast surgeon says. My breast surgeon has told me that calcifications are very or could be very normal for premenopausal women, so let's see what yours will say. Enjoy your birthday!

(snort)...sucks donkey dongs...
Okay, calcifications do not equal cancer. Just sayin'
Hugs to you watson...thanks for the snicker. I'm sure things will turn out fine for you. I hate waiting too...

I have had calcifications several times in the past and they do needle biopsies on them. 2 times it was ADH which is not cancer. Let's be positve that it is not cancer.

Same thing here! had mammo wednesday wanted more pictures. Saw 2 small specks and a cyst. Radiologist said he was 100% sure they were benign! I wonder where the hell they came from they werent there 6 months ago! BTW I just turned 45 last week!

I had a couple really tiny calcifications show up on my mammo 2 1/2 years after I was diagnosed, on my scar site. I had had a clear Pet/Ct Scan about 6 months before this. Radiologist said he was almost positive it was caused by radiation, but he rechecked me every 6 months for the next 18 months. Turned out he was right. Don't panic. Kate

Kate, my mammo had two small specks around my lumpectomy scar as well. I sure hope I get the same news that all is fine.
I will keep you posted and thanks sooo much for the responses.
