Holistic remedies to combat estrogen

Options

Hi, this is the first time that I have been on this site and whilst reading some of the information available - I decided to register with you.

I am writing to you to ask what " Holistic Remedies " that are available. A very close friend of mine was diagnosed with Breast Cancer about 2.5 yrs ago. She was 33yrs old at the time. At the time she had to have a Masectomy, chemotherapy, etc... She is currently taking Tamoxifan daily. I am writing to you for advice on how we can combat here levels of estrogen. Every now and then, her periods are returning - I am led to believe that this isn't the best thing for her. What are the worries surrounding this ????  She is a very hippy kind of person and believes in natural remedies and am hoping that you could give me some advice and dietary idea's.

I hope that what I have written is understandable and hope to hear from you soon,

Best Regards,

LEE TSOI

Tamoxifen doesn't stop your periods especially if you are young.  There are estrogen modualting supplements:  DIM, I3C and Vitamin B6 to name a few.  Best wishes

There's another cancer-related message board with a post from a nutritionist suggesting that grape seed extract might be beneficial in reducing estrogen levels.

Exercise is believed to reduce your estrogen and may be one of the easiest ways to reduce the estrogen in your body.  I try to exercise 30 minutes a day.

Tamoxifen works by protecting breast cells(in the breast and any where else it may have gotten to) from the affects of estrogen, so it isn't a problem that your friend is still menstruating.  Tamoxifen doesn't cause menopause and can even make a woman more fertile.

    Dear Tiger1706,

Brevail is a natural estrogen inhibitor......check it our on the Web - It is lignans taken from flaxseed....you will find very interesting information.  Also, the comment about exercise is soo true!!  Rebounding is an excellent choice.  You can read about all those benefits as well on the Web.

    Wishing your friend the best,

    Genesis
