    May God Bless

    Sue,

I had a lumpectomy in 2005, at my next appointment my surgeon asked if I had trouble finding bra's to fit (a-c cup) and I told him yes. He wrote me a prescription for mastectomy products that I took to the local mastectomy fitting store (Silhouettes) where they fitted me with a fill prostectic to put in the bra to even out my sides. I also purchased several (6 or 8) bras to wear with the prost. She filed my insurance I I had to pay the deductible. Since I had breast surgery it qualified my insurance to pay for the mastectomy products. It helped me to feel more normal by looking normal. You might want to try this option to help the balance.

There is a magazine on the stands now for Breast Cancer patients named 'beyond, life after breast cancer' and this edition has article on my fake boobs that describes the types of prosetics available and some places to get fitted.

side note: since then I had 2 more abnormal mammos resulting in one additional lumpectomy on the oposite side with ADH and the last abnormal dx of DCIS. I had both removed to get off the emotional roller coaster.

Yes, a good store is fabulous. The woman at the one here was amazingly helpful to me. I had a mast and the shape of the implant is just flat so it doesn't fill out a bra and looks funny especially in sports bras or tanks with "shelves". She gave me a half of a stick on bra that works great and I bought a set of silicone "petals" that people use to hide their nipples (oh, to have a nipple to hide!) that has a little bulk to it.

    There's always a fix!
