No Evidence of Disease is NED. They will probably check your nodes when you have your surgery. Only had lumpectomy so I can't tell you too much about masectomy.

I started Herceptin July 10, 2007 and will finish July of 2008. Was dx'd on April 27th 2007 with stage 1 small 1cm tumor. So had lumpectomy and 2 nodes removed which were neg for cancer. Tumor had clean edges but report came back Her 2 positive and hormone receptor negative, so am on 6 rounds of carboplatin and taxotere (with Herceptin for a year). After which will be followed by 6 1/2 weeks of radiation. Hope all goes well! Have fourth round tommorrow, have no hair and fingernails are changing colors, but I am still working everyday!!!!!! Amazing what we can do!!!!!

Denise
-
Denise , You give me such great hope, I was also on gemzar and herceptin together, but for 1 yr., after trying taxotere and herc, for 3 months, and xeloda and hercp. for 7 months. I have just been taken off of chemo after almost 2 yrs all together for mets to the lungs and will stay on Hercpting alone now. I will be doing herc. every 3 weeks instead of weekly as I was doing it. It has taken so long to be in remission, and I would love to be 3 yrs out with NED as you are. Thanks for posting and sharing your good news, we are all at different stages of our journey with this disease but it is so inspiring to see good results. Stay well and Hugs to you ------KLynn

Diagnosed 1/04, ER/PR/Her2 +, Stage IIa, clean nodes. Double mast and chemo, but no herceptin, as I was early stage. Recurrence in a single lymph node [1/22] which was Her2+, but ER/PR negative. Had surgery, now doing taxol with herceptin and finally will do radiation.
At first I was HAPPY with my local, limited recurrence as i knew I'd get herceptin. But now, after these past months of hell Im sad that I was not offered this before. Im a FIRM believer in herceptin.....
-
Surgery July 06, will get my last herceptin Dec 7,07
A great date!!! So far.....so good.
Hugs
Susan
