While waiting to get results of biopsy on my daughter, we're trying to get information in case the outcome is not good.  She's on the SF Kaiser health plan.  Does anyone know if we can relax and be assured that they are as good as any for BC treatment?  Thank you for your advice.

I have no experience with Kaiser in SF, but I was treated for my BC at Kaiser in Sacramento and I have only good things to say about my surgeon, oncologist, gynocologist,  the chemo nurses and radiation specialists.  I will be going to Kaiser in San Jose for reconstruction.  Remember, you can always switch to another Kaiser doctor if you don't "connect" with the first one.

Best of luck to you and your daughter. My prayers are with you.

It's really the oncologist rather than the plan.  You all need to feel comfortable with him/her and confident in the oncologists ability to guide you through all this.  Keep in mind that if you are considering a second opinion to ask for that up front--it's not a bad idea and if they know from the outset they can be gathering information for that second opinion.  Call your customer service number and see if they offer a case manager--some coverages do.
