My Dad heard this on the radio today so I googled it and it can be found here:

or here:  http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7098340.stm

(or just do your own search of the headline terms).

Marina, Thanks for the link.  According to the report:

"It said it was unlikely that the right concentrations of CBD could be achieved through smoking cannabis."

But is it worth a try?  Cool

the press release I read says that all testing so far has been done on mice and that human trials should be starting in the near future.  The release also makes clear that a process must be done on large amounts of marijuana to make the compound (called CBD I think).  The big news about this is the fact that there are virtually no negative side effects from the compound and as it does not get you high, the production of it will not violate any state, federal or international laws.  They say it will be at least five years of trials before it will be known if it works.  So, don't run out to your neighborhood dealers to pick up weed!! It won't help (unless your goal is to get high).  I'm excited for the trials to start so we can see if this is the breakthrough we've been waiting for.  Wouldn't it be a kick if pot eventually cures or treats cancer??
