I have only found a couple pics of what IBC looks like and I am really starting to think I may have it. Other people tell me that mine may just be a staph infection but from all those pics I have found it doesn't look like that either.

My sores start out like a bug bite, turn red and sore and even produce fluid sometimes. I have taken so many rounds of antibiotics it is unreal. And the crazy thing is the only place I get these sores are on my boobs. Help.... my doctor won't even consider anything other than an infection and I have been getting them for so long!

Have you gone to see a breast specialist or breast surgeon? Have you had any biopsy?

I have to be referred to a specialist and my doctor refuses to get me in to her office until the 27th. It has been going on for at least two years. Nobody will even consider that it may be more than just an infection!

Have any of you that have been diagnosed with IBC have red sores that produced fluid? My only symptoms are itching, red sores that continue to come back in the same and sometimes a different spot but only on my breasts. Lately I have been having pain in my left breast which I assumed was just heartburn which I have never had that problem before.

My doctor says that if the sores go away then there is noway I have IBC. However they never truely go away they just keep coming back!

    Hi

I was diagnosed with IBC but I had no sores nor redness. You should see a breast specialist or an oncologist asap though to rule out any form of malignancy. All the best and my thoughts are with you.

    Regards

    One small piece of info.

When I started having trouble with my breast I had the hardest time getting the Docs in my town to pursue finding a diagnoses. I kept hitting walls. And MANY of the docs had no idea what they were dealing with. But they thought they did.

Anyway, I traveled to the nearest Comprehensive Cancer Center (JOHNS HOPKINS) and was seen in the breast center. They had NO trouble knowing what to do. They diagnosed me the same day and started my treatment plan immediately. They also said its common for them to get women with IBC that came there looking for answers because they cant get them at home.

So if you can make an appointment and travel to a Comprehensive Cancer Center. They are listed on the National Cancer Institutes web site.

     Hope it helps.

IBC is often mis-diagnosed. Get yourself to a breast specialist ASAP and they will take care of you. Check out the ASBD.org web site to find a breast specialist in your area.

I didn't have any sores with my IBC.  I was undiagnosed and brushed off for months by different doctors.  I encourage you to find a specialist.  Mine was finally diagnosed by a very good breast surgeon who is certified by the Huntsman Cancer institute.  I hope that they can figure out what is causing your sores and pray that it isn't cancer.  Good luck!

I agree with the other members. Please see a new breast specialist. Breast cancer is nothing to wait on. The  earlier it is detected the better.
