    I had a mammorgram and ultrasound for a large breast mass in the right breast and tenderness in the area under the underarm almost arount the most outerridge of the breast.  The mass is on the other side of the breast.  When ultrasound done with color of lymph nodes why?  What are they looking for?  The tech said that they are looking for blood flow in and out of the lymph nodes.  What does this mean and why are they looking at this.

    when a blood supply is noted it is a suspicion of cancer.  cancer needs blood supply to grow especially tumors.  I am not a doctor.  Still learning myself

    let them look, they are protecting you from it spreading.  My mass was cleavage side of breast, they wanted to see if it had spread to nodes.  Good luck on your results
