Voltaren

Ah Lisa- when it rains it pours---
The FDA is due to approve Pennsaid before the year is out. It is also a topical Diclofenac Sodium as is Voltaren-- What will make Pennsaid different is the delivery vehicle which is DMSO.

Hi Lisa,
Yes, that is good news. I've used it ever since you told us about Voltaren a couple of years ago....thank you very much. We buy it over the counter here. I must say that it is expensive but worth it. It's very effective.
Best wishes always
-
Glad it is working for you too, Blundin

Saluki..good that another company is coming out with this stuff..that may bring the cost down ( dream on... huh)

Lisa--I am very excited that companies are starting to think in this direction. As one who can
not take NSAIDS because I've already had an auto-immune toxic reaction with Clinoril (Sulindac) that took ten years to overcome----So, my Doctors say NSAIDS are out of the question.
So, I am delighted to know that they are working on delivery methods that have less systemic ramifications--
Topical Voltaren supposedly has 94% less systemic absorption than taking it orally. Oral
Voltaren killed my mothers kidneys.
I remember you telling us you had good results with Neurontin (can't remember whether your
posts were regarding hot flashes or neuropathy).
Neuronton (Gabapenten) turned into a long running nightmare for me, but, I was fully able to take Neurontin compounded together with Ketamine and Clonadine for topical application and did get some relief without any SE's.
You can imagine what a cocktail like that orally would do to Quality Of Life. LOL
I could only get it made topically via presciption from a special compounding pharmacy.
There is financial incentive for Big Pharma here, since some of this stuff goes off patent, but when combined with another product or in a novel way of delivery can again get patent protection.
Its a good thing.

Lisa, your timing couldn't be better since I switched a couple of months ago from Arimidex to Femara and I am experiencing more muscle pain. I just ordered Voltaren online. It cost me $67 for a large tube but it is worth it if it works. Thanks.

Lisa,
I just received my order of voltaren cream last night. I have a few questions. It says it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory so am I to assume I should not also be taking Advil/Aleve at the same time I use the cream? It also says not to use for more than 2 weeks. I am planning on using it on my neck and shoulders (think the muscle pain in neck is coming from shoulders and tight pectoral muscles from implants and rads) but it says not to use on a large area of the body. I just put some on my neck this morning and did not take any Aleve today. Hopefully it will provide me some relief. I ordered it online but didn't realize where I ordered it from. It was mailed from New Zealand but says it was made in Germany by Novartis. Is the Voltaren cream different from the cream that was approved by the FDA for use in the US?

Hi,
Can someone advise me of the web site used to order volteran on-line?
Thanks.
Lauren
