My Dad died

Ladies, my Dad died yesterday morning. I have to pack for his funeral, but I need some sisterly support. It was awful, fast, unexpected, and I didn't make it to the hospital in time. His obituary is in the Chicago Tribune website and his name was Hilbert Barrick.
Love and prayers, Deb

I wish you and your family a veil of support, care and peace. It's so hard when so much else is going on in our own lives every day.
Having it be unexpected just makes it be even tougher. Treasure your memories and say goodnight to him every night ... I still do and it's been 10 yrs this past August! ~ Squeaker

It's hard to lose a parent, it seems like we finally become the adult when that happens. May your father rest in peace and may you and your family ease through the healing process.
-
Deb, I'm very sorry about the loss of your dad. I did go to the chicago tribune website and read his obituary.
I lost a loved one once in the month of December and last Sunday lost a dear friend to bc. Losing a loved one over the holidays adds an extra level of sadness & sorrow. All the music & festivities seem out of place. It's hard to see other people running around happy while your heart is broken. You've been dealt so much in your life. My heart is hurting for you.
Loving thoughts will be with you and your family as you face the difficult days ahead.
-
I'm sorry.
We had a relative die about a month ago. It was not unexpected, although we hadn't thought it was going to happen when it did.
It takes a long time to recover.
Don't worry that you didn't make it to the hosptial. Your Dad will be with you forever. God does things in mysterious ways and this is one of those times when you have to trust in them.
-
I am so sorry Deb. Losing a parent is hard. Prayers for strength for your family during this difficult time.
Sometimes life makes no sense and is hard.
Janis
