Hi all I'm new to this so I hope i do this right.  My Mom has stg 3 Ductile CA. It was in her lymph nodes 8 out of the 12, has had the rad therapy and is still on the chemo. She had the surg too She is HER2+ was on the Adriamycin and Herceptin and some other one as well but just can't think of it right now.  This has been a year so far since she was DX.  Her EF has suffered terribly.  She was stopped from the chemo once and the cardiologist with meds got her heart back to where she could go back on the chemo, now they stopped it again due to EKG changes and just her cardiac instability.  She was supposed to be on the Herceptin until Feb. My ?? is when do they say OK what is worse the herceptin or the heart problems and call it quits on the chemo?  Should her Dr/Oncologist re do her blood or maybe a PET scan to see if maybe the cancer just might be gone? or do they have to finish the herceptin?

    Hi Candace,

    I don't really have an answer to your question.  It does seem like the onc would do tests to determine whether the cancer is gone.  She may have had enough chemo to wipe it out.  I sure hope so.  Is your mom seeing a cardiologist as well for her heart problems.  I also have heart problems from Adriamycin and am now on 6 meds trying to increase my EF.
