I am three years from dx and doing fine. Always wonder what is around the corner.  Had Herceptin for a year following chemo and rad.  Am so glad for the Herceptin and had no problems on it.  I had 5/20 nodes bad.  Was staged at 2+.  Anyone with similiar status?

    Dear Good,

There are several women here that are Her2 Postive with estrogen negative. You are doing "fine" and that what matters don't worry about your nodes. There are lots of gals who had alot notes postive and are living long lives.  Be strong "Honey..and live for today.

    God Bless you!

Hi Good, congratulations on doing so well. I am also Her2+++ and ER neg. I'm only about 10 monthes out of chemo and will finish Herceptin next month. Just wanted to thank you for posting, we can do this! I was initially so scared to be her2 positive but having read all the positives from everyone, I now feel a lot more confident about it. I have been doing very well and haven't experienced any problems with the herceptin. Please keep posting and let us know how you are doing, it's always encouraging to hear such good news.

    hugs

SmileThanks so much for all the responses.  I see the onc. every 4 months for the next year and if all is well, will go to 6 months.  At the 5 year mark, I imagine it will go to one year.  It really does seem like all the cancer treatments were so long ago!  The only problems that I'm left with are VERY numb toes and index and thumbs that don't grip well do to numbness.  I am unable to take Neurontin due to the side effects.  It is a small price to pay for having the cancer gone.  It is a bit unnerving to read of the recurrences in people who have been through treatments for some time.  I'm really not much  to worry about the future.  As I said, so far I'm back to "normal"!  Let's hope Herceptin is all it's cracked up to be.  I'm sorry that some people are having troubles with it.  It is our best chance to date.
