Help - Could I have IBC??

Hi. I hope someone can help me. I developed a bruise like patch on my breast about a year ago. It went away after about 12 - 14 weeks, but never fully (it remained faint). THen this June it came back more red. In September I developed a second patch under my breast which is now a red raw colour and looks like a bad rash/burn. It's itchy, sore, and has increased in size and I can now feel skin thickening uderneath. My breast feels a little hot to touch, swollen and I've had sharp stabbibg pains in it but not for a few days. My doctor first tried a fungal cream (didn't work), then antiobiotics and Betnovate cream (didn't work). I've changed bras, detergent, been meticulous but it's not going away. My doc thought it was contact dermatitis but I disagree (the creams and antiob's failed to clear it) and the skin is thickening under one bad patch. Could this be IBC?
I'm going to see a dermatologist on Friday. The rash is not all over my breast, just 2 areas, so I am unsure.
I am v concerned and would welcome anyone's view particularly if you've had similar symptoms to me?
Many thanks

Millie - IBS presents in many ways - bruising, pain, thickness, swelling, feeling hot and redness are some of the symptoms. Could be something else but if it is IBC, time is of the essence. You're seeing a dermatologist on Friday. Mention your concern about IBS. Many doctors are unfamiliar with IBS so check this out with a breast surgeon who has treated IBSers in the past asap. Too many of us have been blown off resulting finally in a diagnosis at Stage IV.

Personally I think you need to see a breast specialist.
I only say that because I had such A hard time getting ANYONE to listen to me. I went to 5 Docs all of them good docs and all said "I dont think its anything to worry about". Even after my diagnoses most docs didnt have a clue about IBS although most believed they did.
You have to do what feels right but DONT be deterred by docs who are not concerned. Its your body and your life.
Docs do not know everything contrary to most of there beliefs. With IBS you need a specialist.
Good luck and take care
