When is one year?

I had heard we are at highest risk for first 2 years after cancer. Nov 15th marks one year since surgery for IDC. However, on the Johns Hopkins discussion board, Lillian said you start counting one year after treatment ends which in my case would not be till march. Any input?

My onc says you start counting after treatment ends.

I was told after your surgery. They removed all my cancer at that time so I count from then.

It seems to me that one year should be when tx is over. However, I do think most of the women on here count it as when the cancer is surgically removed.

My onc counts from when I was diagnosed after surgery.

i decided to count from when treatment ended. for a while i counted from diagnosis, but that never felt right for me.
