    hi,

my husband has had staph twice. first time on his hand and arm.  now on his  hip.  he is 32 . he is in a wheel chair . he was hit by a car when he was  4 . he is VERY independant.  he is so sick right now.  i can not even descibe it. we adopted 1 boy with celrebal palsey and in the process of adopting 2 girls 8 and 9.

he developed a sore on his hip. it is real bad. we went to the hospital with him chilling , shaking and throwing up. he is real weak.  the first hospital was horrible he ask us what we wanted and my husband told him he had staph and he needed something done. well he wrote out a antibiotic and sent us home . it was 2 am i cried cause he was to sick to go home . we came home for a couple hours and he got worse . i took him to another hospital and they done a little better. they gave him upset stomach meds so he can keep the bactrim ds down.  i wanted them to keep him cause i am scared . well they sent him home and i am  trying to take care of 3 kids and worried sick about my husband after he had staph the first time we went to our normal dr who was not going to check his blood but said she would only cause he looks bad. they never called and now he has it again and is worse.  at least he woke up today for a few hours so i could talk to him.  i feel like the doctors were i live are afraid.   i am so depressed .  i am not liking halloween this year.  i don't like our doc no more or the hospitals here.   sorry for venting. i am just so worried. Cry

    Tawyna,

You need some help getting the care your husband needs and you need it now.

I wish I had answers but I don't, hopefully someone else can help better than I.

I just know I would not get off the phone or out of their face until the changes to make my husband better were made...

Prayers and hope for strength, answers and care  coming your way here!

    Dear Tawyna,

I am so SORRY!! Havent you had enough?Sure you have! This is just too much!

Here is the thing I can think of--patients who enter the emergency room in an ambulance get top priority. And with staph, and so sick, your husband DEFINATELY needs an ambulance.

The techs know stuff and will see to it that his case is called in ahead and there will be a team there waiting for him.

    He belongs in the hospital!

Tawyna, you do know that staph is contageous, right? You and your son are at risk!Your husband definately needs to be in hospital!

I'm glad he is on antibiotic, and I'm glad the other hospital gave him something to hold the Bactrim down.

Maybe he will get better from the Bactrim-I HOPE so, since he's not getting the treatment he needs!

Wishing you the very best of luck. You must be worn to a frazzle.

I love your avatar! Such a beautiful young woman, and so much responsibility.I'm very sorry.

God bless you and help you all.

    j

PS-Keep us posted. You know you have many friends here who will be worrying and praying for you.

I had a friend who got a staph infection and needed IV antibiotics to fight it.  I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time.  Gentle hugs.

Joan is right.  Call the ambulance.  We have a horrible hospital like that where I live.  They nearly killed me and i'm not kidding.  I told my husband next time I'm ever in that position drive me over the county border and then call the ambulance!  I had all my surgeries (the ones I could plan) in the good hospital over here.  I have a disabled child (my girl has severe autism) so I know how you feel and with your husband so sick it is incredibly hard on you.  Please DEMAND the help your husband family needs.   God Bless.

    hi everyone,

i think i cracked .  larry was still so sick today and could not get out of bed.

my family told me how concerned they were to. his voice is weak.

so i got in my car and drove to our regular doctor. i told them it was time for my pap so of course i got in .

once i got back there i talked to our doctor who told me tommorrow  she would admit him in the hospital. i told her i think he could die.

i have been so sick over this. my son has to have surgury in jan . mom has to see her onc she has a weird  spot on her bottom.

the hole on larry's bottom scares me . i told our doctor it was hard to help cause i am scared.

they told me at one of the hospitals i could catch it. i felt like saying  is that why you will not keep him?

thank you all for your support. he goes in tommorrow. please keep him in your prayers. i am afraid something bad will happen.

mom will have the 3 kids.

you all are like part of my family. everyone of you.

thank you all for being nice to me.
