    Hi,

I have a question.  I have taken 2 diflucan over a period of 3 days.  I use Vagifem.  I still ichy??  I have an appointment with the gynecologist for Tuesday.  I don't think I have an infection but i just don't know.  The last 3 times i didnt.  It was the dryness.  I have been using the vagifem more often this week to see if that helps.  I 'm getting very upset not to mention uncomfortable.  Do you think this is probably the dryness yet again??????

I'm so sorry you are having this problem and trying your level headed best to manage it yourself!

How frustrating then, when success is replaced by continued itching and dryness.

In truth, I think at this point, another trip to the expert would be best to see if anything new or overlooked has developed. The vulva and the vagina in the estrogen deprived state, as we all know, is a rather complicated part of our body.

I recently came across this article by the National Vulvodynia Association, which is long, but gives a lot of candid, practical possible aids to vulvar (often called vulvovestibulitis) and vaginal problems, including, for tea lovers, the use of tannins which are in tea to sooth the vaginal tissue prior to trying new therapies to resolve itching. The article likewise talks about recurrent yeast, atrophic vaginitis, and other medical conditions not always looked for like HPV and Scleroderma/autoimmune problems. So perhaps you may wish to take a quick run through, and go to current year for updates.

One other pharmacologic list I came across, for whomever may like to look at is is from Medscape, and it lists commonly used vaginal creams, tablets, rings, etc.. and an absorption breakdown per 24 hours which I've never seen before:

I'm sorry Barb, that this is all that I can offer tonight. It sure would be great to be able to provide Cyber-relief for your problem.

    All the best,

    Tender

P.S. I wonder how you do the fancy "here" and "here" underlined links which I'm now seeing on some posts! Oh well, I still can't get a smiley face up.T.
