TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLS

I'm confused. What did Trix post?
Well, if she is selling something I guess the mods had to delete it.
About my halloween quandry,
We decided to ask the woman who made us all so uncomfortable last year just that: "Hey- what gives? Why did you insist on coming if all you did was sit in the back like a court reporter taking notes?"
Her response was that she "doesn't really like to have fun or be a part of a group."
I ask you, if that is the case- then WHY come and ruin a stinkin halloween get together????
So my friend asked if she was coming this year and she said Yes! But that she "won't pass out the candy to the kids, won't contribute to the buffet, won't wear any sort of costume and won't help set up or take down the decorations."
So I ask you, WHY COME?
After reading your responses, I told my friend that I don't really have the energy to deal with someone who is obviously a few sandwiches short of a picnic and life is way to short to be around that much negativity.
I decided I will bring my goodie bags over later and make my contributions to the decorations and food, but then I will be home here tonight for my own trick or treaters. We have some great kids on my street anyway. And this way the doorbell won't drive the Fluffman crazy.
You know it is funny what cancer can do. I am the only person with cancer in this group and everyone else is deathly afraid of telling this woman that she is quite honestly freaking them out. I was the first one to bring it up last night when I was worried I would be stuck with her. I told my friend today that life is so very short. I don't want to waste an entire evening sitting with an unglued person who is just going to make negative comments about all the nice things these other women and their husbands are trying to do for these kids.
I don't know if I got through to her but she said that she has always felt uncomfortable around her too and that her DH thought she was a really nasty presence the minute he met her.
I wish I could get through to her directly and ask her why she wants to spend her life on the sidelines like that - and point blank ask her that doesn't she know that the mean things she says comes back to the people she talks about???
But it isn't worth the effort.
Anyway- thank you for helping me decide. I will still make my appearance and bring the stuff I promised but I am not hanging out with the princess of darkness on Halloween of all nights! YIKES!
So now I have to get MY OWN house ready!! LOL! Last minute nellie strikes again!
Happy Halloween everyone! and thanks for understanding my problem. I just don't "get" mean people. But I know I am not wasting a moment's time fretting over them. They aren't worth it.
BTW- I got the decorations up at the other place this morning! HA! Hope I can get them back to normal again tomorrow!
-
Gina, I clicked thru to your site and the decorations are fabulous!
Glad to hear you decided to not waste your time with the nagative element. Have fun tonight with the trick or treaters.
-
Ah Gina....gentle hugs! I'm sure you and the Fluffman will have a simply divine halloween all by yourself. It's so nice of you to take over those treats. You are one of the kindest women I've ever met.
-
Gina sounds like you made a wise decision. I dont blame you one bit for wanting to have negative in your life. I dont understand why some people insists on trying to be a part of things when in turn they are making themselves even more misearable. For the life of me I cant figure out why somebody would go to a function and sit back by themselves. I think thats past the point of being shy and unsocial. It sounds like something else is going on there. Heck I'm a shy person but I know how to socialize and have fun and if I didnt feel comfortable going somewhere I would not go. I sure wouldnt go and be a fly on the wall and not talk. Oh well, just my take on things but it sounds like you have it under control. You are right, some people are just too darn hard to try to figure out and not worth the effort.
Oh by the way, I love the decorations. You did an excellent job.
Marsha-eachday is a fun day isnt it? Oh yeah, shokk lost her nose hairs and they havent grown back so she is trying to get Nickis mustache to take the place of them. Want that be a sight?
Wildjan-now just who gets that dead horse award?

CHARLENE Thank you thank you thank you! I love the bathing suit. The halter is very flattering. MB was gonna make me some scrunchie swimmies so that should work out really well! OH and thanks for all the bras too. You know I only had the one prostesis since I originally just had the single mast. NOW I have two that match and maybe I'll start wearing the darn things. I cannot thank you enough. You are as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. HOpe you heal up quickly! Love, Marsha
-
Just popping in quickly from work to say hello and happy halloween. Way behind the times here I do believe LOL. Whats all this about a dead horse...ewww.

With all the circle has been through lately, I thought I would post a pic to remind us of how much we are all loved.
-
Nicki..do you have room at the back of the broom???
-
Liz...............I just love that photo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Hey G,
Sounds like you made a really good choice. You and fluffy (forgot his name) will be nice and cozy greeting the little kiddies at home. Your other neighbor sounds like some psycho you might find in a basement on an episode of Desperate Housewives!
Oh .. Trix was just posting a response she made about funding of BCO. No big deal. She just happened to post on about 1,000 different threads!
Nicki, I want a ride on that broom too. Drop me off in the tropics for a few weeks, if you wouldn't mind!
love,
Brenda in VA aka Bren
-
Yea Marsha! You got the swimsuit. Are you starting to feel a little better?
Liz, I just love that Pinkstock pic also. Doesn't it bring back memories???
Shokk, nosehairs?? Pffffftttttt!!!!!!!!
G, some people just don't know how to, or want to socialize.
Wild/Jan, too funny!
Gracie, my eyebrows and lashes came out after I was done Taxotere. After they finally came in, they thinned out about 5 more times. They are finally to the point that I'd say they were pretty much what they were before chemo. Hang in there!
Nicki, Bwwwaaaahhhaaaahhhhaaa!
Jan

Oh I love that photo too! CY you make me smile every time I see you in that pink hat! Your smiling face is contagious!
Thanks Liz..........
Yes, Jan I guess I am starting to feel better. I was so bitchy there for a couple of weeks I thought it best to stay off the boards. LOL Sure am glad to see the last of the month of October for a year.
-

Marsha, glad you were able to use the suit Char sent you. Liz, I love the pic - I know most of the people but could someone identify them for those that don't? There are some newbies on this thread I see.
Gracie, I have extremely light brows and sparse lashes to begin with and thought I'd really be in trouble when I went thru chemo. I couldn't believe I didn't lose one last and my brows didn't lighten. Then I read that people were losing them days after finishing chemo and I really started to worry. I was ok though. Hang in there, they'll start growing back quick.
G, you are right, life is too short so why waste time with someone who is so negative. I've had enough negativity in the last few years, don't need no more.
MB, can't wait to get the recipes.
Back later girls.

Thanks, ladies for responding about the hair growing back in slowly. I'm just kind of getting depressed, you know? Here everyoen else I know is growing hair and I have none, and am losing what little I had left. IT's depressing, I hate it!!! I want my hair back and my life back

There are some products that others say have helped them. There are several threads about this very thing. I'll see if I can find them and post a direct link for you. Gentle hugs. Hang in there.

Gracie, I remember that I had very small patches of eyebrows before I finished chemo; never totally lost them. Funny thing was, I felt so bad, not sure how long they had been that way before I noticed - that was the least of my worries so guess it is why I didn't notice. Well, chemo made my vision blurred so watching TV sometimes was hard too. It all grows back; I did loose my eyelashes a time or two after they came back in . Figured some chemo got stored in my fat - don't know why but that is how I laughed it off. It does eventually grow back. I used to have very thick hair but now it isn't as thick but I have hair.
We have no kids to come by so I don't dress up - other than my usual self. I did buy some candy to have at the restaurant in case some little ones come by there. If not, well the employees and customers are going to enjoy.
Gina, I think you made the right decision and it is just like you to still contribute something to the party but say home with Mr. Fluffy. With all the side effects you've had lately, I honestly didn't see how you were going to feel like going. Having to take some time to rest from answering the door and giving out candy, etc., and deal with your neighbor's issues would have not made for a good evening. This way, you can enjoy the kids that come to your house. Hope you enjoy.
Lisa - think everyone wants a ride on that broom
Liz - thanks for posting the picture; good reminder of better days.

WEll, so far I have had a wonderful Halloween. Gina - I swear we have the same friend. I recently had the same experience. Yucko. An she is a meanie too.
Gracie: This is the hardest part. I thought my hair would grow back much faster than it did. Remember though, you didnt just shave your head - you lost your hair follicles. I have heard that Nioxin works good and you can get it at most beauty shops.

My halloween costume with the developement directors wig
now I want to see all of your's!
-
That is too cute, Miss Vickie!
-
Yup Nicki! I figured you would turn on me just as fast as you turned on Peter. People in the past told me that you shouldn't be trusted. No big surprise here, sugar.
Thanks for the loan of your broom. ROFLMAO!
Sorry Jas! I don't do pm's. Just a taste of your own medicine. Although, I must admit the two of you have one thing in common. Harrassment.
