CY - I miss you!  Wish I could help with the eyelashes.  I know a lady who had that happen and she had to have a doctor remove them! Tell Scott to be careful (which I know he is because he loves you bunches).

I did read on another site that Charlene is out of surgery and doing well.  I'm glad to hear that.

Haven't seen anything on Cheri yet.  What's this about a dead horse?  I didn't think Cheri had a horse.  Guess I need to read back.

Hmmm I just read back - all I can say is OUCH as Gina said.  Was that comment really necessary?

L iz, read back too and JMHO - no the comment was totally out of line - especially made to Cy with all that she has been having to deal with.  People wonder why so many have left for warmer surroundings.

Just to let everyone know that Cheri got an all CLEAN - Mammogram was Ok

Further note on Charlene/Angel - was able to do the surgery vaginally so will make for a shorter recovery time.  Karl was going to post more later so if we hear more, will pass along.

Everyone have a good evening - need to start dinner getting a little late.

It was so nice to see some familiar faces here.  Deb, I'm so glad your trip today was informative and mostly filled with good things.  I'm sure your scans will be good, too, positive thinking, right?

I'm glad to hear Cheri's mammo was clean and Charlene's surgery went well, all good news.

We are trick or treating tonight instead of tomorrow, our town decided not to interfere with church night.  It works out great for me since I'm leaving after school tomorrow for a teacher's convention in Lexington.  It's only an hour away, but our school is paying for us to stay.  It's a super nice hotel, the Marriot at Griffin Gate.  The convention is being held there, too.  I'm really looking forward to it!

Play is good.  I'm missing some practices because of the convention, but I've got mylines down pretty well, just polishing.  Thanks for asking.  Have a great Halloween.

Brenda - Thanks so much for the update. Was checking back in hoping to hear. Love to hear good news.

Deb - Praying for good scans for you.

    Hi Jan, Pam and Liz

Marsha and Sheri - My 2 table dancing partnersKiss Good to see you both.

Well I probably won't be on for a couple days. Crazy schedule.

I am so glad to read the good news.

There is a group of us that were supposed to get together tomorrow night for  Halloween but I don't think I want to go. First, I simply don't feel up to it and secondly, we had a problem with one of the women of our group last time and it made me and some others kind of uncomfortable. I really am in a quandry because I am supposed to be putting goodie bags together right now for all of them.

Last year, we all had costumes. Nothing elaborate- but something to look festive. I had orange tissue paper on my head and an elongated box as my "dress" and I was a Bic Lighter. Other girls came as  a princess and some as a cat and one girl came as a ghost- just the plain white sheet with holes cut in it . The reason why we do it is because this is kid central here. We have two huge halloween attractions on either end of town and kids come from all over. So instead of driving ourselves crazy we all go to one gal's house and make it a fun thing for the kids as they come to the door.

But there is this one gal who didn't do anything last year. She just sat in the back room and watched what we were doing. She didn't get up once to answer the door for the kids. She wouldn't even put on a costume- nothing! I even tried to get her to at least put on some kitty ears but she refused. She was really a wet blanket.

This year I don't feel like doing it. And I certainly don't want to join her in the background doing nothing but smirking at our friends.

    What do you think? Pass?

At least this year I have a  good excuse and I have not been feeling well at all.

    Any opinions would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hey G,

I think after all you've been through, you're entitled to use the "C" card once in awhile.

You're not up to it.  It's that simple ... It's okay to tell your friends the truth.  Whether or not other people "get it" or not, in my opinion, we still have to take care of our health first and foremost.  Your neighbor just didn't want to play ... you on the other hand would dearly love to play, but are battling the BEAST right now.  Get some rest girlfriend ...

    love ya,

    Brenda in VA aka Bren

Gina, just let it go for this year.  You can't be everything for everyone.  Take care of yourself!

Yay!!! Cheri had good news!!  B9 all the way!!!!

And Charlene is out of surgery.  I had my hysterectomy done vaginally and it was a piece of cake.  She will be just fine!

Jaz, if the horse is dead, there is no sense beating it.  Just get another one and ride out the same way you came in.   That was uncalled for.

Hi, ladies. My grandkids are here for the week, so I haven't had alot of computer time. My eyebrows are STILL falling out, along with my eyelashes, and I'm 5 1/2 weeks out of my last Taxol. Has anyone else had this experience this late after chemo? I stll have no hair, it's not even trying to come in :(

Just give it some time and your hair and eyelashes will come back.  Your body is still dealing with the chemo and will take a while to recover.

Biker, my horse will go wherever it chooses but thanks for the advice.  It has been filed in the appropriate 'out' box for future reference.  :)

    Gina,

I can't see you sitting back watching others or refusing to interact with the rest of the group causing others to feel uncomfortable.  I know if you decide to go, you will be there actively engaged in the fun.   Do you know if this person has mental health issues that they just kind of sat and watched, never engaged with anyone or any of the activities.   That is just not normal, you know?  Don't worry, don't see you ever behaving that way.

Honestly, that horse needs to leave the arena - dead or alive.

Gina, I agree with Naniam.  I can't see you sitting around and not participating in the activities so I'd have to say just don't go.  It will all work out in the end.

    I beg to differ admin.

At least, based on the acknowledgements on your website, 7 of your 8 $100k contributors are pharmaceutical companies. I didn't look deeply into the lower contributors but at first glance, at least a portion of the lower than $100k range are pharmaceutical.

Non-Corporate contributors mention no individuals only "2" anonymous. (sp?)

Happy Halloween to all my friends.  Hope you have a great day.

I found a replacement for the dead horse.  Think its fits the person perfectly.

Trixi:  I have been reading your posts.    I saw that you are trying to quit smoking and was sort of following you as I am trying to quit also.  I did read that you attended the virtual tea party and was suprized that they kept referring to the discussion boards rather than community knowledge exchange.  I do believe it is confusing, and hoping that the name does get changed soon.

I found it interesting about the pharmaceutical companies being big contributors to bco.  Actually, I think they should be donating big bucks to this site.  We are always mentioning the medications we take.  Be it chemo, something for side effects, aromatase inhibitors, antidepressants.  They are getting free advertising!  I would much rather see them donate to bco than have those awful television commercials about neulasta - "Im ready for my chemo."  Makes me sick everytime I see it.  I do believe that to the pharm companies cancer is big big money for them.  Sorta makes me wonder if they really want to pursue a medication for a cure.

You seem like a nice person and hope that medicine your taking to help you quit smoking works.

Gracie:  I just wanted to share that the same thing happened to me after my taxotere.  I lost all my eyebrows and eyelashes when the chemo was over.  I thought I had gotten away with not losing them.  My hair also took a very long time to grow back.  I thought for sure I was gonna be bald forever.  While everyone else said their hair was growing back I remained bald.  My last chemo was 12/05 and on my birthday 3/05 I still had very little hair.  Finially in April it started growing back.  And it grew back goofy at first.  The back grew more than the front.  My crown came in last.  The left side of my head had more hair than the right.  I do know this though, all of a sudden, one morning you will wake up and run your fingers over your bald little head and will feel fuzz!  I will never forget that day.  I could feel something on my head again.  Anyways, dont get discouraged.

Everyone else - I have no time.  My mornings just are not fun anymore.  Gotta get ready for work.  I have no computer life as I am working too many hours.

Hope you all have a great Halloween.

Gracie, my last taxol was May 23.  My hair, eyelashes and eyebrows started growing back really well.  As a matter of fact, my eyelashes cme in really thick!  BUT about a week ago, they fell out again!  I am now lefft with about `10 lashes on each side. and my eyebrows thinned out too.  The hair on my head is still there and  growing very full.  Hang in there honey, I couldn't believe it either but there you have it.  Over 5 months since chemo and out they go again.  GEEZ the gift that keeps on giving.  Hugs, Marsha

Gina, I am going with what everyone else says - bypass the party and party pooper.  I like the Bic lighter costume.

Jas, you can pass me the broom - I may need it today.

Trixi-I saw your post and first wanted to welcome you to the circle.  This really used to be a nice place and we hope to get it back the way it was.  As you can tell above we do have one person that cant seem to let things pass.  People have loaned her other horses and even brooms but go figure.  If you want you can read back and see what a wonderful place this one was.  In fact it was so good that I suppose people were envious of what we had and tried to destroy it.  As they old saing goes, the circle will not be broken.  Welcome to a great group of women.  Oh by the way, good luck on the no smoking.

    Nicki-Nic picture!

    Jan-nice advice.

Gina-I wouldnt blame you one bit for not going.  Sometimes its all about you girl.

margo-you dont need no stinking broom.

Marsha-cancer sucks huh and it never wants to leave you alone.

Trix-just noticed you got deleted.  dont let it get you down, it only happens to the best.

Amy - cool temps here this morning and we had a big frost yesterday.  Feels good.  I agree of all people, Margo doesn't need a broom!!!

Although those of you who know me - yes I really am a witch the week of Halloween.  Have all kinds of talking witches in at home.  Collecting them for over 15 years.

So what did I go as for Halloween?  A sexy female Zorro!  Go figure.  Mustache and all.

Nicki, glad you are having fun today!  What about you Amy?  Are you dressing up this year?  Shokk?  You need a mustache? Or just hairs in your nose?  When I went thru chemo every nose hair I had fell out.  Guess I could have used Nick's mustache then too.

Jan, you dressing up today?   Just what does someone with the nickname WildJan do for Halloween???  LOL

I'm not dressed up yet but will later.  My friend has a Victorian home in the historic district and we get spooky and scare all the trick or treaters who come by.  She gets about 250 kids and last year the newspaper came by and took pics.I'm gonna be female dracula-ette and have a spooky gothic cup with a spider on it to drink my Bloody Mary's out of.  Dang, I wish I had some dry ice..................
