O/T - Furbaby GONE!!

Felicia...I was doing my normal check-in and saw the good news. I am so happy that your baby is back

Vestly is doing well - just a little skittish around sudden noises (like the fridge door closing, etc), but very, very affectionate. She's about to kill us all by making us trip as she does the leg rub thing.
She was a little itchy and I did check her for fleas/ticks (found one scratch near her left ear), but I'm heading to the vet in a few to make sure she's ok. She's been spayed, so no little surprises in 8 weeks, lol...
I'll post a picture later - gotta get her into the cat carrier which is not her favorite place to be at all...
Lexi, still praying that your furbaby, Reba, to appear. Going out at dusk really helped in the Vestley hunt. Try it if you can... -
Felicia, now that your cat is back from her kitty convention, we can all feel a little happier along with you. What a nice bit of news to start my day!
Tina
-
OK - Clear bill of health from the vet - 'cept for the beginnings of an ear infection, which she gave me drops for. The scratch may have been a tick that she scratched off, but the doc says it will heal on its own. She was dewormed and had some flea/tick meds - all "just in case." The doc was amazed that she looked so good after being gone so long and thinks that Vestley is a really good hunter!
Here's a pic of her from last night: -
Looking none the worse for the wear. Now, you will really have to watch the doors - she's had a taste of freedom and she might decide that she likes it. I'm glad you won't have any souvenirs from this little vacation. Although with her as mom, they would probably be adorable.
Fingers & toes still crossed for Reba.

Dear Vestly,
Young lady, do you have any idea how worried you made your mommy and your brother??
I know you wanted to go on a grand adventure, but I know the truth, eating a few crickets and mice isn't all it is cracked up to be. And what about having to pee outside? Dead leaves and hard dirt is not like the soft kitty litter your mommy provides is it? I hate the way the dirt gets stuck under my nails!!
You have had your fling now, so never do this again. I know- I have been there. In case you are considering another escape attempt I have one word for you: SNOW.
You are going to have to trust me on this, you do not want to be out in THAT.
I have escaped before and it really is not what I thought it would be. I was lucky I was "found" by my owner- she took me in. But I may not have been so lucky and I could STILL be outside in the rain! In the heat! Near big dogs!! And you know what? Garbage from a garbage can tastes like ... well... garbage!
Stay at home and chill. If you are looking for feline companionship email me. I set up a web cam so we can talk.
Your pal,
The Fluffman
-
Oh Felicia, she is soo adorable.
Sheri
-
Oh YAY! I just knew she'd be back! I'm sooooooo thrilled for you and your son (and Vestley), Felicia! You need to buy that kitty a cell phone to let you know her whereabouts next time

I read your letter to Vestley, Fluffman, but she just rolled over and meowed for me to rub her belly! I don't think she gets it...
Reba, are you listening?!? -
OH FELICIA I'M SOO GLAD!!!!!!
SO glad!!!!
Love to you both!
-
Felicia---Your news has really lifted my spirits tonight. I'm so relieved for you. The cat I adopted was initially found under a car with a litter and it was apparent she had been a home cat and that home probably had dogs.
She must have had a hard time out on the streets because she does not seem to want to repeat the experience. She's content to stay home. I can't say the same for my other furbaby.
Maybe this will be the end to Vestley's "Wanderlust" and she will be content to be a couch potato
Wonderful news! So, happy for you!
Now if we could only wish Lexi's furbaby Reba back home...................
-
Vestly, Vestly, we love you!!! You are a wiser cat now, and we can see you've been through a lot. It shows in your eyes. Snuggle close so we can hug you.
Listen to your Mommy, she loves you.
Felicia, I think you need to have a long and serious heart-to-heart with Vestly and explain to her everything you (and WE!) went through. She may have some things to tell you too.
We're all so glad you're home where you belong!!!
Hugs & purrs, Mizzy
PS..what is that thing around her neck?
-
So did you ground her for running away??
so glad that she is home.
Janis
-
yay!!!!
-
See, I told you so.
Dang that is so much fun to say when the news is good!
We are still hoping for the other missing one.
-
Now, why did I keep thinking Vestly was a "boy" cat? Is it the name? LOL
She's gorgeous and looks very happy.
Two of my cats follow me everywhere I go. I'm in the den...go to the bathroom...they follow...I go upstairs to the puter...they follow me....I open one of the closed bedroom doors...they sneak in and do not want to come out..LOL She'll probably be tagging along side of you for a few days.
Vestly, take Fluffman's advice.
-
Felicia - I'm so glad your nightmare has a happy ending!
Vestly - you are a baaaad girl!
-
She is gorgeous felicia! You must be so glad to have her home.
-
YEAAAAAAAA!
I can only see half of my screen, pc is so messed up, I am so
Happy I could come back and hear such good news(Vestly)
I am also Praying for sweet (Reba)
(Reba)
Puppy
(ps, please excuse any mistakes "I ONLY SEE HALF THE POST"

The thing around her neck is a flea collar. H2B balked about her staying in the house (as opposed to the garage) without one the night she came home (couldn't get to the vet until the next morning). The collar is gone now as had the scruff-of-the-neck flea/tick treatment yesterday.
The name is a weird one, I know. My son named her (and now wants to get another cat and name him/her "Nestlé"; he has a knack for coming up with unusual names. For a long time, he carried a stuffed hippo he won at a fair - named "Pondello." I feel really bad for the kids he will have, lol). Don't know where he gets if from, as everyone else in the family has simple names like John and Kathy...
Vestly seems to not even be thinking about outside as she no longer runs to the stairs when someone comes to the door. She's been tucking herself under my bed and under the dining room table lately. Come to think of it, she hasn't visited her favorite window spot, either. We did have a nice long talk the night she came back, though. Either that or whatever she had to deal with while on the lamb hopefully tamed the explorer in her - for now, at least.
She's sleeping on my lap as I type. It's good to have her back...
Fingers and toes crossed still for Reba, Lexi! -
Oh, so happy for you Felicia!!
-
Oh, thank you, thank you girls. I am really feeling like we won't be having our kitty back home. I know that is a poor attitude to have, but I really feel that if she was able to be here with us that she would be. I am trying to remain hopeful and believe that she is our there somewhere. I also feel badly because I am not looking for her as much as I was the first couple of weeks.
I will keep you all posted with any news. Thank you for thinking of Reba and me.
Love,
Lexi
-
Girls, I have the best news!! Prayers have been answered!! Thank you Jesus, and thank you friends!!
My son called a while ago and said I am at Joey's house holding Reba! I couldn't believe it! Joey lives across town!! We are absolutley amazed!! Talk about being at the right place at the right time! Oh my goodness! My husband had just said earlier today that he had come to grips with the fact that she had probably been hit by a car and wasn't coming home. And now she's at home with us!!
I do have a confession to make that I am a little embarrased about. She didn't have a collar on. I am heading to Wal Mart to buy her a collar and address tag tonight.
I am so grateful that she is home. Grateful for terrific friends and "sisters" who make the tough times a little easier.
Love,
Lexi
p.s. I will take a pic of Reba and try to get a pic loaded. I am technically challenged so it may take a little while!
-
Amazing Wonderful news Lexi-- So glad Reba is back and this thread has such a happy ending!!!
Sweet Dreams,
-
WHOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!
I am so glad Reba is home. Score two for us!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looking forward to her picture.
-
Oh, I am so happy right now. I lost 2 in less than a year and was so fearful that you would go thru what I did.
You are truly blessed!
Yiippppppeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Thanks for letting us know. Now both the wanderers are home.
-
Dotti,
I am so sorry you lost two in less than a year. I know how heartbreaking it is. When we lost our Sashi, I couldn't even think about getting another one for a year. We did get one a year later and she is truly a joy (when she's good). I hope you were able to distract yourself with more furballs. They can never be replaced, but the new ones can be so healing.
