Anyone need a left breast prosthesis?
Info: Classic Light Amoena Climate Control (#358) left breast form in size 8L. I was a size 38 C/D. This form is very comfortable with a removable gel-filled cooling pad. Have 2 pads so you can wash one and wear the other.

This retails for over $300. If anyone is interested, please pm me. I have it all washed and packed in it's original box. I would be happy to send it to you free, just please send it back if it ends up not working/fitting. I am assuming these forms are good for a couple of years!

If no one claims it, call your local ACS and see if they take donations. Some offices keep a selection of donated forms for women that can't aford them. My chemo nurses also had a closet full of wigs, hats, forms and even like-new bras to give to women that couldn't afford to buy them.
It is sweet of you to share

I gave away three new mast bras that my MIL had purchased for me - in the wrong size. I thought back then we should have a thread for items to exchange and give away.
Your size 8 would make about 4 proth for me. I actually ordered breast enhancers and they work great for me. My size 2 was too heavy and uncomfortable and I donated it to a cancer support place.
I hope someone can use it. -
I already tried the local ACS and they wouldn't take it. They wouldn't even take the brand new/still in package temporary breast forms that came with my surgical cami I ordered for reconstruction. They suggested I take it next door to the plastic surgeon's office. I tried to explain the ps doesn't remove breasts, he builds them, but I could tell the conversation was freaking them out. Oh well. I'll keep hoping someone can make use of it! Paper weight anyone?

Contact purplemb on this board. She collects mastectomy paraphernalia and distributes it to people in need.

Hello, I just had a left modified masectomy on the 25th of October. I don't plan to be having reconstruction done anytime soon. I start chemo on the 28th of November so I really want to get through all of that before I even decide what to do about my missing one. I haven't had one conversation about a prothesis with anyone yet. However I did receive some soft pillowy cushions from the cancer society. Is that what it is? I do where the same size as you so if you still have them I would love to have it. Or anyother info, products etc you have to share.

Hi Sparker,
I sent the form to purplemb a few months ago. I hope she still has it. Your surgeon won't want you to wear anything but the cotton fluff forms for a couple of months while you heal.
Have you checked with your local american cancer society? Sometimes they have donated wigs, scarves, etc. They also probably have the Look Good, Feel Better program. You get a box full of nice makeup for free and some tips on how to use the makeup during chemo. Also my onc office had some catalogs that had inexpensive wigs ($40) and I ordered one as a back-up and ended up liking it the best.
I know you probably have chemo on your mind. I hope it goes well for you. My first chemo was 2 years ago already. Emend (anti-nausea drug) really saved my butt. If purplemb doesn't check in here soon, I will pm her.
