When I saw the title of her email, I thought "how presumptuous!!"

But Good Ol' Martha has, as usual, some pretty good advice. And recipes.

Sorry.I tried to clean this up, but when I click EDIT it shows me the actual version I copied & pasted, w/out all that computer-speak.

Power Food:
Bell Peppers

Red, yellow, and orange peppers get their good looks, as well as some of their most noteworthy health effects, from plant pigments called carotenoids that boost immunity and prevent cancer.

I never did like Martha because she seems so exploitative...but maybe she has something here.

Did you ever see her article on home-made condoms for overnight guests? (Actually, it was written as a spoof of MS.)

Oh, sorry, Mizzy.I didnt post this because I hate Martha.Rather the opposite. And I think this is Martha's contribution to October as Pink-Ribbon month. It's better than a chain letter isnt it?

I posted it because all the hints , and the recipes, are so good, and useful.

    Joan,

Thank you for posting this. Some of her tips are actually quite helpful and interesting.

I tend to avoid all the recommendations about healthy eating because all that did was lead me to BC! LOL!

But the other stuff was  interesting!

As for the other comment made, I had two waitpersons who used to work for MS and decadent is something she is not... she made them hand wash the plastic forks and knives after a picnic she hosted at her Hamptons house.

    Joan,

Sorry for the negative reaction....sometimes I don't read these posts as carefully as I should....this does look interesting...even tho Martha wouldn't be my first choice of a resource.

Martha does have flair, and if she can make eating for cancer glamorous, why not go for it!!!

Somewhere on this site a nurse put up some advice on post-treatment eating.  A lot of women have low energy and she advises going for the complex carbs--especially ones like old fashioned rolled oats and lentils.  These are cheap and nutritious.  Can't remember where I saw this.

Thanks for going to all the trouble for putting this up here!!!!

I have respect and admiration for Martha.  She is flawed, but aren't we all?  She has the courage to keep going.

What was that about "those without sin throwing the first stone?" LOL Well, that won't be ME.

She kept the disposable plastic utensils?  I call that cheap.  I would pitch'em.
