I was diagnosed in Jan 2007 when I was 34.  I have no family history of breast cancer and I am ER-/PR- and HER2 - with a genetic test putting me in the 5% "other" catagory.

I have had a left mastectomy with chemo starting in Feb 2007 thru Jume 2007 then having a right mastectomy with TRAM reconstruction in July 2007.  I still feel like this is not over.  I am not sure what else to expect.

Hi, I also have everything coming up neg.  Hormonal, and her2.

then the genetic test was neg. also.  I don't know what i should do next.  I got a sonagram secheduled for 10/26 to check out my fibroids. I was on birth control for only 3 years because of them.  It will depend on their size for my next decesion. Things are still hard to get done.  Tired most of time still, I get one good day and it takes 3 or so to rest up.  I was told to get a flu shot, tetnus w/whooping cough, at the same time!  It has dragged me down for a couple of day now.  But I am feeling better.  Next time I'll space them apart.how did you find your BC?  hope I help you

I'll tell you in less than a month (I'm waiting for my results).  I had no prior family history of BC.

I've been diagnosed triple negative at age 51 and also tested negative for BRCA1 and BRCA2.  No prior history of breast cancer in family.

Embarassed are you on any other meds?  I am not.  I still feel that I am missing something.  Do you know how to find out the odds of BC coming back with our RX. thanks linda

I was dx in 8/07 triple negative and I am 27 years old. I did the full spectrum genetic testing and it all came back negative. The genetic counselor at UCLA said (before my results came back) that they were 90% sure it would come back positive for BRCA 1, but it didn't. They also said that even if it did not come back positive I still probably had some genetic mutation that they just did not test for yet. Now that my testing is back negative that seems to be the general opinion of other MD's I talk to. But it still leaves a lot of questions and uncertainty.

I'm quadruple negative!  (Triple negative and BRCA 1/2 negative.)  My onc and np said same thing...probably some undiscovered genetic mutation.  I have NO family history of cancer that we can find.  I'm in the middle of chemo and contemplating surgery options.  What to do?  Should the girls stay or go?

hi, Should girls stay or go? That is a good question.  I had lumpectomy, no nodes, stage 3 in size. My Rad Dr. said it is better to rad with breast tissue still present, because if it comes back you are dealing with breast bone and it is harder to treat.  If I understood him.  Makes since to me.  Let me know what your DRs. say.

Hi, maybe we should all submit a blood sample to see if any of us have the same mutation gene or similar genes!  Start our our study!

I am all negative, too. Like I told my doctor..I'm totally negative about breast cancer.Laughing

Check out some of the new research. It is here on the Triple negs thread by Edge. I don't understand it all but...there seems to be target drugs for triple negs..some are from the Taxane groups...Taxol or Taxotere and some are the platins like carboplatin and some others.

There are more than these...but also AC is included.

There is some agreement that AC followed by Taxol is a tough combo for triple negs and it works. They also said the radiation is good. There are also biotherapy drugs like Avastin.

We also appear to have a fairly decent prognosis. If after 2-3 years there are no mets, your chance of getting mets drops. If after 8 years of no mets, some doctors are saying...consider yourself cured.

It's apparently not all that bad after all...read the studies..I'm just reporting what I read.
