Do any of you have recommendations for vitamin supplements to help grow hair? I have looked into it and Calcium/Vitamin D looks promising.

Biotin, biotin, biotin! Calcium and vitamin D are very important for bone, of course, and studies are showing vitamin D to be HUGE for preventing cancer, but for the hair, I've found biotin does the trick. I started taking actual mega-doses (can't find any research that shows adverse effects from large doses) within the year after chemo and my hair grew back quickly and fairly copiously.

I take biotin too and I am afraid to stop it.  I think my hair is pretty decent and seems to have grown faster when I upped my dosage of biotin.

There was another person on the boards whom I have not seen in a while named Lillie and she swore by Flintstone vitamins.  I believe her doctor recommended them and it worked wonders for her.

Yep, that is how I understand it.

I've been using Biotin, 1000 mcg/day, and have a very thick growth of hair on my head.  I truly don't know if I would have had such thick growth anyway, but I don't think the Biotin has hurt any.  Marin uses much more than I do.

I use Biotin 1000mcg each day (and I'm thinking of upping it 1 dose).  It does help.  I am on Arimidex and I do notice alot of hair in the sink since I've been on these hormone treatments.

    Yes, I take 5mg (5,000mcg) a day. That's a mega-dose, but I'm not stopping. I'm planning on hair down to there! It's shoulder-length now.

I started at 2500 mcg, dropped to 1000 when I bought a new bottle and now I am back up to 2000.  I am a year out of chemo and have about 5 inches of hair.  Should I up it some more?
