Robin doing another interview this morning

Ugh...I watched up until I had to leave for work, but forgot to set the DVR. She was almost co-anchoring from UAE and I did see her interview with Laura Bush who I guess she's shadowing. It's Laura B's mission to spotlight  BC in the Arab world and show how the shame that is attached to it within the culture leads to women being diagnosed at later stages. It's interesting and curious, though, that the women there also seem to get it at earlier ages. I wonder what can explain that..? I do recall reading awhile back an article in which Arab women with BC and working with BC patients were interviewed. The diagnosis apparently carries such a social stigma that many women's husbands leave them out of shame. WTF? And this is one of the wealthiest, most 'developed' areas in the world! I'm glad it's getting more press and more aid from the US. This, to me, is exemplary of what our true mission should be in the world....to spread information, help and hope.

Robin looks great and none the worse for having traveled so far. It did look as though she wasn't wearing her wig (just a hat) when they landed, but it was hard to catch. I so admire her efforts to give press to BC and consider her a wonderful carrier of the message!
