I was just checking and was going to ask, ARE WE THERE YET!? LOL
Donna, must be nice not "being into food."
Can't wait to see your pictures.
Glad you got there safely.
I can tell you are already having loads of fun.

So you flew all the way to Japan and had Italian?!
-
Fumi, I am so glad that you are getting to meet a bc sister in real life! And on your home turf!
Have fun ladies! Take lots of pics and laugh a lot!!!!
-
You had Italian food in Japan! Silly!!! OMG, I would be at the first sushi bar or requesting some shabu-shabu, sukiyaki or yakitori!!
Out here we even have a place that serves Japanese Spaghetti. You can get spaghetti with seaweed and uni on it. Or a marinara sauce with bacon and eggs. It's really different.
Have fun and try something new!

What a fantastic day we had! I'm too tired to share all of the fun details, but I was going to post a picture and apparently I am too stupid to figure out how it's done! (I forgot to ask Fumi, as I was busy helping her figure out how to get around Tokyo
)

This is wonderfull Donna!
makes me feel as though we are with You Both!
Did You give Fumi a Hug for me?
and Fumi Please give Donna one for me also!
I would also go to the first Italian Resturant I could find!
But from what I understand, Our Sweet Fumi is a Fantastic cook!
So trust her advice Donna, just make sure it doesnt wiggle
can not wait for pictures!

Believe it or not, I did make it to home! Phew! I am such a loser, too terrible at directions so I did need Donna's help to get around Tokyo. Mind you, I lived there for a year and a half!!!
Pup, we "squeezed" each other. I can tell that everyone who saw us never assumed that it was the very first time we met in person. We started chatting like crazy as soon as we met and were dead tired by the time we went back to the hotel. I will start a new thread for our pictures. Stay tuned!
Edited to add the link
Here's the thread where you can see the pix.

Can't wait to see the fun pictures.
And I don't blame Donna for NOT eating raw fish!
However, I do like Asian food. I wonder if REAL Asian food is different than "American-Asian" food.
I did have some (I assume) real Asian food off a ship from China. A friend worked at the ports and could invite other people to come along. It was near the time of Chinese New Year. The food was HORRID! However, it coulda been the "chef" on the boat. I ate most of mine (being the polite person that I am), but my friend just stirred hers around to make it appear she was eating. LOL We all had a wonderful time though!
I'm from San Antonio (been living here for 40 years
) and surely missed the REAL Mexican food especially in the little hole in the wall family owned restaurants. I'm surprised Taco Bell can stay in business there.
What am I babbling about? Oh, yeah, no raw fish for me! And can't wait to see the pictures!
