A Walk Down Memory Lane
Would you like to share some memories with me? I've made a slide show and would like to share. Turn your speakers on.
This slide show is entitled "Here Goes My Hair." LOL Yep, this was during and a week after chemo. I had not had my surgery...still had BOTH boobs. I now wear a FAKE one. LOL I've gained MORE weight (can I blame it on Arimidex?), wear different glasses, no longer wear a wig, and, sadly, my grandchildren are two years older.
This was a surprise party given to me by my three daughters and a friend. It was a Happy Birthday, Break from chemo, and Mother's Day all wrapped up in one. What a wonderful day. I thought my daughter and I were going to have lunch at my friend's house with her grandchildren. Everybody parked their cars a little further down the street. Our car was parked a couple of blocks away. It didn't matter cuz I didn't even notice the cars that were in view! My brain surely wasn't functioning (and still isn't ). In fact, I had felt not so good that day and almost cancelled our lunch arrangements, but said, you can do this for one or two hours! LOL
I had no idea that my other two daughters were in town. My dh and sil were supposed to be going to the hardware store. So, when they showed their faces I thought, what the heck! I still had no clue until everyone came out. IT WAS DEFINITELY A SURPRISE!

Thank you, ladies. I was just being nostalgic. I had been throwing out stuff. While going through things I would, of course, find something that would bring back memories. And this was just ONE of the many memories.

What a wonderful surprise for you - you must have felt much-loved that special day!
I enjoyed the video immensely - did your daughters make it for you?
-
No the girls didn't make the little slide. I decided I had some great memories through this mess and I just wanted to put something together. The pics did come from a CD that my friend made me which made it very easy. The bald pictures, I think, came from scanned pictures. Around the house I always wore something on my head because I couldn't stand looking at myself. And then I put it out there for everyone to see. LOL

I had lunch with my friend who helped make this party as SURPRISE! She's the one who opened her home to us. She asked me why I made it. I said, just being nostalgic. I had been going through stuff, looking it over, and throwing out (YES, PATRICE, PITCHING..DECLUTTERING..lol...more to do
) and decided it was "pink" month and just wanted to do it. And yes, it does show me just how far I have come.
It's a strange thing, but I don't get "sickened" by the memories of chemo. I was just so happy to be done with all active treatment! My hope is that I can stay right here in MOVING BEYOND CANCER! My prayer is that my daughters and granddaughter NEVER have to experience this or anything like it.
I've shared this graphic on another thread. I'll post it here too.
