    Hi

    I'm not sure this is in the right place, but I have a slight problem I need help with. It's been happening for a couple of weeks now and I'm not sure whether I should be worried. My diagnosis was grade 3, stage 2 cancer. I had chemo, radio and WLE. I was also her2 and oestrogen and progesterone negative. In the last few weeks I've started sweating profusely in the unaffected arm pit. I'm wondering whether it's because the lymph system is fighting something (first thought) or is it possible that the other arm pit could be compensating for the irradiated arm pit loss of function (don't sweat at all in the affected side). My diagnosis was 5 years ago and I'm a little concerned. I've also had a bit more tiredness over the last few weeks.

    Has anyone heard of this as a symptom of secondary lymph cancer, or am I worrying for nothing...? Sorry to post it here but most of the information sites hardly mention anecdotal evidence of 'other' symptoms, they only talk about lymphoedema.

    Hi Sudohnim,



    One possible explanation that comes to my mind is maybe you are having small or such hot flashes, and sweating on the armpit side which has sweat glands.



    Radiation totally destroys the sweat glands on the affected side. While I don't think it makes you sweat more on the other side, it's probable that if your sweating more from hot flashes and/or outside temperature, you notice it much more than on the non radiated side than the radiated side.



    I don't know of a secondary lymph cancer that is associated with arm pit sweating per se. I have heard that generalized, or all over, profuse sweats may be sometimes seen, which isn't what you're noticing, yes?
