30 is better than I imagined
Thanks for the birthday wishes girls. I've been so busy lately getting ready for huge events that are happening in my life, but of course I had to come here to share everything.
I was in Newsday yesterday. Here's the link:
www.newsdayinteractive.com/specials/lifesvictories/life2.htm
I hope that works. I'm giving a speech tonight in front of 500 people, for the Adelphi celebration of survivorship, and I want to post it here very badly, but I'm speaking for over 15 minutes, and it's 7 pages long--- too much to post I'm thinking.
The web site I've been working on for the last year is launching this weekend, and it's such a proud moment. We've worked so hard, and to see the final product is beyond rewarding. Please come take a look on Sunday 10-21 www.breastreconstruction.org
When I was dx, there were moments when I wondered if I would make it to see 30. 3 years, new breasts, and a lot of hair later, I'm pleased to say that my life is so much more than I ever could have imagined. I am so excited that there is still so much more living to do for me...
And it's so great that I have such a special cheering section from my sisters. I speak about you guys a million times in my speech--- so if your ears are ringing/burning tonight, you know why.
Love to all

Well, I got to see Beth tonight and she was wonderful. Her speech had us laughing, crying, nodding our heads in agreement and then standing on our feet applauding.
This girl really DOES inspire!!!
I feel very lucky to be so close to Beth.
She is truly a wonderful person, a dear friend, a true inspiration to so many, and a force to be reckoned with!!! (or with the new site- a force to be recon-ed with!)
The SITE IS FANTASTIC by the way!!!!
It is SO EXCITING that it will FINALLY be up!

If you think the 30s are good, you'll love your 40s and I anticipate 50s being even better.

Thanks everyone! First, let me just say that is is 10:45 a.m., and I JUST WOKE UP!!!!
Today, I am breathing easier knowing that the main stress of my life is over, and now I can just RELAX! Well, not relax relax, but at least just focus omn the breast cancer walk, the site launching, and the ASPS conference in 2 weeks. BUT- knowing that my 7 page speech is over and done with, feels very good.
I wanted to take a minute to tell you guys about no surrender, and what she got me for my birthday...
We all know G is incredible, and I got some pretty great gifts... but none like hers.
I opened up a box, and inside sat a lovely silver keychain, with these words engraved on it
I ONLY PLAY TO WIN
Talk about an amazing gift. When I said my famous tag line in my speech last night, I knew Gina was smiling.
I'm going to give her a copy of my speech for her web site, cause it's so long to post here, but I talk about the sisterhood, and what we do for eachother, so I'd love if you guys read it.
Anyway, thanks for all the support. Who loves me better than you guys do???
-
I can't wait to read your speech. We all can use some of that inspiration. And Gina, what a sweet, sweet gift.

Thanks, Gina. I'm going there right now. I'll probably copy it because I don't want to sit at the puter reading it.
The pic is adorable. Looks like ya'll (southern) are having a ball.
