will it ever be like it was before

2007 was the worst year ever. My mom was dx with stage 3b lung cancer and I spent months at her house taking care of her. She just called to tell me her cancer has returned. In March my husband was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer and had a radical prostatecomy in May. On our 25th wedding anniversary in July I was dx with breast cancer. I decided not to do chemo, but stared tamox last week. I have been so weepy. I just hate what this has done to my life- the loss of sex- from the prostate as well as breast ca, my poor husband is barely able to deal with his own issues let alone take on mine. We have accumulated thousands of dollars in debt, and now with my mother I know she wants me to come back and be with her while she is going through this. (she lives in another state) I know life goes on and all of this will pass. I have a lot to be thankful for as well. But I just want to know how long the emotional rollercoaster lasts

It sounds like you've been given a very heavy load to carry. There are no easy answers. All I can do is let you know that we are here for when you need to vent and unload. Gentle hugs.

It's a roller coaster for everyone, but mine was a little one compared to yours. You really do have a enormous amount to deal with. That is some serious stress you're dealing with, don't hesitate to get a bit of counseling. Your hospital's oncology dept may have a social worker with whom you could have a few sessions.
I don't suppose that it will ever be like it was before but there will be a "new normal" as you adjust more to the changes in your life.
Best wishes

Kathy, bless your heart! You really ARE under so much stress. It's bad enough that you had your dh have to deal with this "new" problem. Is there anyway your mom can come stay with you?

Hi Kathy, I am so sorry about what you are going through. That is alot. This may sound a little harsh, but just remember you come first. Your health is what you need to look after. I know your family is important and you love them. But, you can only do what you can do right now. Remember, all this is so overwhelming and stressful. Take a deep breath and take one step at a time. One day at a time. All this too shall pass. Take care of yourself.
God Bless,
Kaloni
