HI YOU GREAT LADIES:

NEED SOME INPUT, PLEASE.  I HAD CHEMO, MASTECTOMY WITH NODES REMOVED AND RADIATION.

I HAVE FINISHED RADS 3 WEEKS AGO.....I FEEL ABSOLUTELY EXHAUSTED; AS BAD AS WHEN I WAS CHEMO.

I DON'T THINK THIS IS NORMAL POST-TREATMENT? ANYBODY ELSE HAD ZERO ENERGY AFTER TREATMENT WAS FINISHED???

HELP,PLEASE

ERIKA

    Erika:

I just saw your posting.  Yes it is normal to have zero energy after rad.  I am two years  out from rad and still have this.

My pcp has give me an antidepressent to help.

I just finished my radiation two weeks ago, I feel tired and emotional lately.  I'm also having a hard time getting back into the swing of my "new normal", feeling a little angry too, just wanting this to end and tired of worrying.  Everyone around me seems to want to celebrate the finish line of treatment but I feel so tired and worn out, let alone scared still.

Hey Shelly - I'll be 2.5 yrs out from the end of my tx this Thanksgiving. Be gentle to yourself. No one but those of us who've been thru the tx ... can possibly know how frustrating it is at times. It's hardest if you're a trip neg too, when you're 'done' w/everything and suddenly all your medical team pats you on the fanny and says see you in 3 mos!! You can't help but to have that sense of "what next". This past summer was the first time I truly began to feel like my old energy level was coming back. It was really nice and I trust you will have the same experience too. Grab those naps when you can and if you're cranky for the day ... be cranky and the next day should be better. Ciao!
