I am triple negative and am wondering what type of test does our oncologist do on us to determine treatment.  Is it correct that the estrogen positives get the oncotype but we don't?  I know I was tested with some test to determine my percentage of recurrance.

I can't remember what that test was called.  Thanks for any help.

    I know of none....

Studies have shown that chemo works well on triple negs and a recent study just came out that Taxol is good for triple negs...

No test to determine if it REALLY works though there is some new thing somebody in Australia is working on where you inject a dye after treatment to see if the treatment (chemo and rads) is really working. I understand this is not a proven thing and not out yet..is still in the process..

I think alot of doctors use a 'standard of care' protocol based on what the latest research shows is the most effective treatment.  Some may also use some of their own minor adjustments along with that standard.

With triple negatives, chemo is just about all we have to fight this disease.
