TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLS

Tina - nice to meet you. Come sit by the fire and we'll get to know each other.
Okay Pinkstock girls - don't kill me. I submitted the group photo from Pinkstock to Lifetime TV for the Faces of Breast Cancer Tribute. They LOVE it and want names. First names? Screen names? What do you want me to tell them?
The lady stated that the picture was TRUE faces of BC.
Hugs

Good morning Circle Ladies! Happy Friday! Its finally turning into fall down here. I can tell because the high temp today is in the high 70's. Wow, a cold spell. The leaves should start turning soon. Its one of the prettiest times of year here and I'm going to try to go to some of our 'mountains' and get some pictures of all the lovely colors. I'm sure in a few weeks I'll be complaining about how cold it is and wishing for summer. Never satisfied!
Cy -- I'm so glad that the new trainee is working out. Now you can take a day or two for treatment and come back without having to pull overtime hopefully. You amaze me with all you do.
WildJan -- How are things with you lately? Nice to see you dropping by BCO. I also shop the resale shops and at Goodwill. I shop at Goodwill lately to find cheap flannel shirts to use for fabric in the flannel quilt I've been working on. I've noticed that alot of the clothes are in really nice shape. Not what you envision from someplace like that.
BMD -- I agree with you on the boob lift and tummy tuck. I would rather have it done on my own terms and not because of an illness.
Cmb35 -- Nice to see you too! Where have you been lately?
Sheri -- my fellow Pogo addict! Did you get your badges yet? Just think, you will have a weekend now to Pogo.
Cherryl -- I hope you stay on top of those chest pain issues and go to a doc. Its nice that you work at a hospital though.
Jankay -- I think you should do what you feel is best for you and your family. I would hate to advise you on something like this as it really is a family issue and I wouldn't want to interfere where I had no place. Best wishes on whatever you decide.
Thongs -- Its so nice to see you! You were definitely missed. I haven't heard from Raven yet, have you? She is supposed to get to come home today. I hope nothing happened.
Marsha -- unfortunately, you may not be too far off the mark on the comment about the 'hormones and preservatives' in the food. I think that is one reason why young girls may be entering puberty younger and younger.
Doreen -- that is a great idea about Craigslist.
Purple -- have a great vacation and let us know all the scoop on Marsha!
Abbadoodles -- Welcome to the Circle!!! I've been a regular reader on your 'Making Do With Less' thread. I love it. You will fit in just fine with the rest of the circle. I'm so sorry you had to deal with this beast a second time but you sound strong and positive.
Nosurrender -- thanks for the wood for the fire.
Brenda -- I'm there with you changing B9 B9 B9! You've had so much on your plate lately and this is the last thing you need to deal with. Gentle hugs.
BinVA -- hello and hope you have a fantabulous Friday.
Liz -- I think that is pretty cool that you sent the Pinkstock picture. I can't wait to see it.

Another rainy day on my end of the circle. Hot chocolate (Starbucks Vickie) for anyone who wants some.
MB, I'll try to remember to post an exercise (I'm writing this to reinforce it in my mind).
Tina, welcome to the circle. It won't be long until you feel you've known us for a long time.
Brenda, B9, B9, B9. How is the mom situation?
Jas, I volunteer for a nonprofit and one of the requirements is working the resale shop. Most of the clothes are in excellent shape and you can pick up some good deals.
Time to go so everyne have a good day.
Margaret

Thanks for the welcome, girls. I hope to be able to sort you all out soon. Of course, I recognize some of you from other boards/threads.
Tomorrow I leave for a week's convention, so won't be popping in again soon. I will, however, be sending you good vibes and looking forward to having another mug of coffee with you late next week.
Keep on truckin'!

Jazz... my niece started wearing a bra at age 8 and started her period this summer, she's 10!!! You should see this child. She is 10 years old, looks 18, absolutely gorgeous. Guys in high school already hitting on her. SCARY!

Good grief. I'm ashamed to admit this but I wimped out and turned my heat on a bit ago. Its only 70 degrees according to the thermostat but I'm sitting here freezing. Oh yeah, looking so forward to winter, Babe!
-
No heat on here yet, I don't want to have to turn the airconditioning back on, so I'll wait until we can't take it anymore. It feels nice and cool, I love it.
Jasmine, I've got 2 of my badges and should get the rest this weekend. My dh even played for awhile last night when he got home from work. He and I like games, so it's nice for us to have that to do.
School is great, but we've had this week off for fall break. We never had such a thing when I was growing up, but we start so early here we really need a break by now.
Good to see some new and familiar faces.

Hi Circle Girls - I finally found a minute to pop in a catch up a bit.
Jankay - so sorry you are going to have to move - but I agree with the others, take what they will pay for.
Slonedeb: Dearest chat sister, I am so very sorry about your latest news. Sending you prayers and blessings.
Abba: enjoy the convention.
Marsha: I'd like to bet that the hormones and other cr-p in our food and water is responsible for many of the cancers people are suffering these days. When will man learn that you cannot mess with Mother Nature without having some sort of consequences to suffer.
Purple and Vickie- looking forward to seeing you both soon.
Liz: Wow, how could they not love our group picture! Well, I don't mind whether you give them my real name, my screen name- or whatever name they choose.
Always: I generally feel chilly too at first when the weather cools down in FL. Still pretty warm here, but not quite as hot as it has been. Actually, weather is picture perfect today - hope it stays that way all next week for MB and Vickie.
As for me, well the port came out on Monday. I am doing great. Barely any pain - just a "pulling" feeling if I move my arm the wrong way.
Ok, better get back to work. Hugs and chocolate xxx to everyone from A-Z.

Stopping in to say hi.
Tina-welcome to the circle. Come on back when you are able.
Well I need to do some more reading before bed. Good night to you all. I hope you have a good week-end.
-
Good Morning Everyone: I have been in a funk as of late, and just needed to take time away from the boards.
I wanted to bring some sunshine today - to all of you. Its cloudy here in the Chicago end of the circle. Chilly too. They said we might get a frost last night. I just stuck my head out the patio door and yep its cold - but no frost. My flowers are still thriving. How can it already be the middle of October?
Gonna have to dress warm when I go for my walk this morning with my dog. Might even wait til it warms up a bit.
Deb From Kentucky: Gosh, I sure am sorry I missed seeing your post. Had to be pretty devastating hearing your mets are worse. Im hoping they find the right chemo combination that will work for you. You have a special place in my heart right now and I hope you come back and talk to us some more. This is a hard journey and we can help each other as we go through this together. Im sending you the warmest hug I can muster up.
CY: My goodness you had such a hard week. I dont knowhow you do it. You are such an inspiration to many. Your strength and determination are unbelievable. Hoping by today you are feeling better and not in as much pain. You always manage to put a smile on my face.
Tracey: One of my biggest disappointments being away from the wagon circle is that I have missed your posts. Things just are not the same since you have been away. I know you are just loving your new job - but I hope to see you more often. Love ya!
Wild/Jan: I think one of the hardest things with this journey has been how financially devistating it is. I look in my closets and see old grungy stuff. I beleive that cancer is a big money making business. I still owe money to everyone. My hospital continues to remodel, rebuild, put on additions. Its a Catholic hospital and is supposed to be non profit - so where are they getting the money for all of this. Run by the Alexian Brothers - they have a big sign that says they take care of the poor, well then it makes me wonder why they are sending me to collection agencies cause Im only sending a little money at a time to them. To make matter worse, the collection agency gave my cell phone number out to some unscrupulous marketets. Now Im getting calls all the time about debt consolidation. And believe it or not, I worked for that hospital for most of my career. Oncs are no different. Sneeze in their office and there is a charge. And forget about the pharmaceutical companies. Seems like what we are paying big bucks so they can put big ads on television and buy big lunches for all the doctors office staff. Something is very wrong with this picture.
PurpleMB: Im hoping you and Vickie have a wonderful time in Florida. Since you love halloween - its gonna be a blast. All the theme parks will have halloween decor, haunted houses, oh my gosh - its gonna be so much fun.
Tina: Welcome to the group. You will find this is a wonderful place. Very supportive, lots of friendships and bonding. Sometimes a good laugh or too also.

Good morning Happy Campers! Its a bright beautiful day on this side of the lake. There's a crispness in the air this morning that tells me that summer is finally over and fall is here at last.
SloneDeb -- how are you this morning. I just wanted you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Gentle hugs to you!
Nicki -- your posts always brighten my day. You have such a warmth about you that comes through each post.
Marsha -- happy Saturday. I know you have a day full of fun activities lined up.
Sheri -- try not to stay glued to Pogo all weekend
-- NOT! It sure is addicting.
BMD -- hello to you. What are you reading these days? Some exciting murder mystery, romance?
Choca -- its so nice to have you back. I know you enjoyed your vacation at home but we're glad you are back.
Snowmen -- hello to you. Hope you have some nice relaxing things lined up this weekend. Its so nice to see you posting and checking in. We've missed you.
Please continue to keep Ravencaine and her family in your prayers.

Jasmine, I think I've got Pogo-itis! I am going to take the little guy to the park for a little while, even though it's a little chilly. The sun is shining and it's a beautiful day. I'll be back on Pogo soon enough.
-
Deb, you are probably a couple of hours from me, I'm just south of Lexington. My onc is from Commonwealth Cancer Center, they have offices in other parts of Ky, too. I love him, his name is Dr. Liu.It might be worth checking him out. Where have you had your treatments? Maybe we could meet somewhere sometime if you feel up to it. PM me and I'll give you my phone number if you are interested.
-
Well I did it. Took the dog for our mile walk. Crazy person that I am, dressed up thinking it would be cold. Even had gloves on. Well let me tell you, by time I was done I was really sweating. It wasnt as cold as I thought it was gonna be. Actually it was very refreshing.
Jasmine: Thanks for the compliment. Funny cause thats how I feel about your posts.
Slonedeb: Well I dont think your onc is giving up. I work at a rehab and we get lots of bone and joint surgery. They use oxycontin all the time. Seems to be a better choice for bone pain. Im glad you popped in to say hello. Hoping the find that right chemo combo to get your through this most recent rollercoaster ride.
Sheri: Playing pogo? Hahahaha.

I was here earlier and the electricity went out right as I finished my post. So now I am back but there are no new posts.
Always-I meant I was going to read more here. Since chemo the Bible is the only book I have been reading. My brain just won't work when I try to read anything else. I forget what I read and get confused. Nice SE to have for about a year.
Slonedeb-Just sending you as many hugs and these arms can give.
Nicki-I did the same thing when I went for my walk yesterday morning. I wasn't a block away and I was taking my coat off. I think my internal tempature is 10 degrees hotter since bc.
The the boys are with grandparents and dh at the races. I am thinking I might go to a movie or the mall. You all have a good night.
-
Been a long week, put in 10+ hours of OT and then went and took MIL for her pedicure and manicure. Man I want one too, but I won't let anyone touch my nails the way there are right now.
I'm a bit tired and still need to find my BIL's cell number tday is Moms birthday and they are traveling with Sister and BIL. Mom lost her phone but I know BIL will have his. If I can just remember where I put the number????
Shirley thank you on the no work vote but I have to work or I'll lose my house! I got the card thank you for the smile!
Maybe tomorrow I can spend some time cleaning my office so I can get to my sewing machine! I am running out of time to get that Victorian Dress made! just over a month to go!
Got to go read then hit the sack
Hugs and prayers to all!

Happy Sunday campers.
Just stopping by while coffee brews to wish everyone a wonderful day.
-
Good Morning, hope everyone is having a great day!

Well, I just found some happy news. I finally logged onto my health insurance provider website to see how my claims were coming. I had gotten so discouraged with them denying paying for my scans that I hadn't logged on in over 2 months. The old 'bury my head in the sand' thing because I was so tired of having to call and call.
Lo and behold, Blue Cross finally ponied up and paid for the scans! What a relief. I figured it was a lost battle and I was going to have to work out an agreement to pay for the scans myself on a scheduled payment basis.

If you are fun loving, witty, kind, compassionate, a survivor, then we want you!
That's right, we are looking for new individuals who would love to become Circle girls. The last set has now graduated to their own board and we have many fun positions available.
So, if you are interested in being part of a special group, please apply by posting your joys, sorrows, fears, and support.

Good Morning Everyone!
Margaret - Thank you so much for posting the picture of the morning glories (to save confusion, it was posted on another site). I have been searching for the perfect picture of morning glories for my new tattoo. I saved it and will print it out when I get my next one. I got my first tattoo on my lower back for my 50th b-day and I want a second one of the same theme for my left shoulder, with a pink ribbon and words "March, 2007" as a symbol of the month I became a survivor.
I lost my little pink and silver enamel ribbon pin yesterday and I can't find it anywhere. I know it's a stupid little pin, but the doctor gave it to me the day he told me of my diagnosis and it really means something to me. I've looked everywhere for it. I finally stopped looking because it was making me sooo anxious and crazy. So, I got cleaned up, jumped in the truck and drove up north to spend the day with my sis and her horse. What a beautiful day it was, and so nice to be out of the house and spend time with my sis. Even just watching the horse eat grass all day!!
Char - I can so relate to your sadness on having to sacrifice the female parts of your body because of this horrible disease. It's not fair, nothing about this frickin disease is.
MB/Vickie - Have lots of fun ... and get that tattoo. It's lots of fun!Brenda (NC) - Oh girl - I can believe you are at your wits end. Please, please take care of yourself. I believe Nicki's on the money. Your mom most likely has some cognitive deficits going on and it's impacting her behavior, even worse now with the strokes.
Cy - My prayers are with you for strength and peace of heart and soul.
Liz - My beagle/ basset got out yesterday. Took me an hour to find him. I was exhausted. Crazy, stubborn, little bastard. I finally found in the neighbors field with the neighbors son's arm cocked and loaded with a rock to throw at him. I'm screaming at him coming through my field to STOP! They know my little dog for pete's sake. They are my only neighbors. How far out to have to move to get some peace from stupid people.
Doreen -
Amy - I've been thinking about you. How did the doc's appt go? Also, while up at my sis' yesterday communing with horse and nature, we went by a goat farm and also donkeys. Thought about you and Onyx, Mazer and all the rest.Marsha - Hi and have a great Sunday!
FL Lori - How are you today? I've been thinking about you.
I know I have missed many, but I can't remember right now.
Love to all from A to Zazette.
Brenda in VA
PS: If anyone sees my little pink ribbon pin, please return it to the lost and found.PPS: AlwaysHope - Love the "wanted ad" post!!! The new gals will come. Just wait and see.
-
BinVA -- just curious by why did you remove so much from your post?
-
Hi AlwaysHope,
I'll send you a quick PM. I've been edited once or twice already. So I'm not up to speed on posting other's names, that's all. So, I erred on the side of caution.
Love,
Brenda in VA

Jasmine: So is today's theme doing a little dance? This is what I have spent my entire morning creating this pick. Anyways, I may keep this permanently! I like it.
Good Afternoon Everyone: I don't know why I like football as much as I do. I'm watching the Bears game now and already anxious and nervous. The are the Cardiac Bears for sure.
Took a walk around the Chicago end of the wagon circle. A strange day indeed. First I contemplated, "was it only last week that they cancelled the Chicago Marathon because of the weather being too hot and humid?" Wow - this week is in the 40's, cloudy, misting type rain, and a chill in the wind. Very quiet day.
Some are still sleeping.
Some are at Wedding Showers
Some are working on afghans and quilts.
Some are on vacation having a grand time in Florida
Or some are like me, just sitting at home on a Sunday, watching football and just relaxing.
Anyways, come tomorrow I wont have much computer time so I thought I would stop by and wish everyone a wonderful Sunday.
Brenda/BMD: I read your post and was amazed at the time frame of the posts. Oh and I do agree, I feel the same as you. My body is 10 degrees warmer, I sweat alot more and all of it on my head. Can never keep a hairdo cause it gets all wet.
CY: I know where you are coming from with knowing you still need to work, but I do remember when I first started treatment, I was forced to take a 3 month family leave. Somehow we made it. Maybe you went back to work just a little too early. Anyways, if you could get a week or two off that would be great. Just remember, you will still have your house in 2 weeks and will have given yourself some time to heal. So my vote is for a family leave! I know everything is gonna work out, just not in your time frame.
Wild/Jan: Hope you are enjoying your Sunday. Making fudge I hope.
Jasmine: Well my head is in the sand and I'm not making any calls. Denial land is good right now. Just got approved for a home equity loan, so I will just pay everyone off that I owe money to. Most of those are medical bills left over from you got it - "Insurance denials."
Bin: Sounds like you had a nice day, despite losing the pin. Spending time with your sister and a horse sounded wonderful. Hoping you enjoy the rest of your day.
Thinking about what we could have for dinner here in the wagon circle. Hot chile sounds awfully good me me. Have regular hearty style with meat and vegetarian style too. And a big pot of french onion soup for those who dont like chile. If you come to the Chicago end of this circle warm food will sound pretty darn good.
Enjoy your day. I'm back to watching football.

Love,

Hey ladies -
Just popping in to say Hi. It has been quiet here lately....
I have not been on the computer near as much the past few weeks. I have been trying to reclaim more of my "old" life. I still try and read a few times a week and keep up on everyone's lives.
SloneDeb - I have been keeping you in my prayers...us deb's have to stick together
Cy - I hope you can get some rest and are feeling better soon. Sending you a big old HUG!
Jaz - I laughed at your help wanted sign
I hope lots of new sisters join us. What is that old saying....some friends are silver, some friends are gold, gather the new and keep the old....something like that....chemo brain...
Nicki - I love the dancing photo! How do you guys get things to move??
I wish I had time to chat more, but I have to go check my e-mail and then clean my kitchen.
have a good day everyone

Hi sisters. Just a quick note to say hello and let you know I am still here. I haven't been posting as much due to hectic work schedule but check in every day to see how everyone is doing. Sorry to see so many are not posting and some are having such a hard time with chemo, infections, and treatments. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Sending love and hugs to all the circle sisters.
