Not really an "occasion", but I wanted to share...

I am going to do the same. I am 43 and not your "typical" tattoo getting person but I want one. I am going to get a pink ribbon with little swirls around it on my one year anniversary. I want something symbolic. I like yours. I asm getting mine on my right ankle. I can't wait. Sept 12 is coming up soon. (My birthday is Sept 11). Thanks for sharing! Did it hurt? Bonny

Bonny, if you saw me, you would know that I am not your typical tattoo-getting person, either! LOL I'm 42, and will be at my two-year survivor mark in 6 days. I wanted mine to be symbolic, too.
As for the pain involved, it didn't hurt as much as going through chemo, and it didn't last as long either! Just remember, the lower on your leg you go/the closer to the bone, the more it hurts. I got mine in two stages...I got the pink ribbon first, but found that it was placed higher than I wanted. The ribbon hardly hurt at all. Then I decided to do the symbols below it, and the bottom symbol hurt the most, but still not as bad as everything we've been through so far!

I am a 43yr old survivor. I have 4 tattoos already. I am also going to do one to symbolizes "survivor". I will have the pink ribbon and some inspirational words. My Fiance, Son, Daugther and Daugther-n-law already got tattoos to represent me. That was so cool. My Fiance has a pink ribbon next to a prior tattoo he had for me, My son has the ribbon on his forearm, my daugther the pink ribbon on her left front shoulder w/ mami, my daugther-n-law has the pink ribbon on her ankle w/ my name. I want mine below my neck and between my shoulder blades. I cant wait to get it. I know its gonna hurt like hell. But with all I have gone through, I wont even blink. Take care all.
