Shepgirl posted an article on Targeted therapy in research news from MAMM. I posted an article on Turning Off Estrogen from MAMM in hormone therapy and am now posting this interview on Rue McClanahan. I did not know she was a bc survivor and was diagnosed with stage II in 1997. There were some very good articles on breast cancer in MAMM this month.

Liz...Thanks so much for posting this! I used to pick up MAMM at my oncologist's every month, but (thank God!) haven't been there in awhile. I'm planning to read all of the articles!

Who would not know Rue McClanahan? She's an Emmy award winning actress who become very famous on her role as Southern belle Blanche Devereaux on "The Golden Girls". Now she's gone. Suffering a cerebral hemorrhage, she died surrounded by her family at the age of 76. I would like to thank you Ms. McClanahan for all your efforts and for all the years of laughter you provided us. You made your mark in this life and you will be remembered for a very long time to come. May you rest in peace!
