Hey girls, boy did I wake up early today. Hey P.J. we do want to get to Az. this winter but don't know when since hubby has to have surgery Nov. 27th. then P.T. for 6 wks. They have lots of craft shows in winter because it is so nice there. They get booked up long in advance though so I need to see whats up down there. Theres no way I want to pull a camper through the mountains in snow. I said something about going down and flying back for surgery but we would have to be here for almost 2 months so I don't know what we are doing. The spine Dr. told hubby he shouldn't be working so I guess we have to get into something there. He really struggles to woodwork. He doesn't do any lifting because he makes small things like clocks , wall hangings etc. but I think just using his arms hurts. That will really depress him if he can't do his wood. He has to do it a while then rest etc. so if he can continue to do that he will be o.k. My son is doing pretty good but his left arm will always be weak and not like it should so he is kinda depressed over that. He will be in P.T. for about 6 months. N.L. I got to that site. I am getting use to this one but hate to log on all the time too. I guess I just don't like change, especially when I am comfortable with something. Janie, does it feel like home and are you all straightened around? P.J. make it easy on yourself and just buy the ipod. His big ol smile will make the purchase feel worth it. Bite the bullet. Hugs girls, Mary

O.K. girls, after nearly pulling my hair out going back and forth from my old server to the new one I finally got on Dell and they had a guy in another country, India I think, take over my computer, it was amazing, and they reset my default e-mail so I am good to go. I just sat and watched my mouse fix things. I can export now. I have to take a grandkid to school early so I will be back. Mary
-
Hey all,
Mary the techs can do that at work. They are in their own place "fixin" my computer. Sometimes they have to actually come over, but lots of times it can be done that way. Not real happy about them being able to go in and see what I am typing at any given time -- why I never type anything I don't want seen..... can't say anything about anybody or anything!!! What's a girl to do? Big brother is watching and all that stuff.
How is everybody feeling? It is now in the upper 80's here and my last electric bill reflects that.
Later gators,
Janie
-
All's well here, Janie. Went and picked up Nathan's glasses today, and he looks very handsome and stylish. He'll probably never wear them....
Oh, and I ordered him an iPod today, Mary.....
So, a coworker told me about a young mom he knows who found a lump a year and a half ago who treated it only through alternative means and diet. She's probably only got a few days left and three little ones. Very sad. -
Good for you P.J. now I hope you got one you like because you may be using it in a few months, you will hate ot see it sitting around after what you spent on it and the downloads and the trouble downloading. Hey, we all wanted the neat stuff too. Good Luck. Have a good sleep girls. Hugs, Mary
-
Well, indeed, Mary, I was wanting one, too. So maybe that'll work out for me!
Paula -
I stayed home from work today with the pneumonia. Decided it just wasn't the day to go and smile and make nice with people when I felt like crap. PJ--I cry about people who go the diet and alternative therapy route. It usually ends with tragic results. And Mary NOBODY that works at any place you call on the phone that has ANYTHING to do with computers or telephones lives in the continental United States--I SWEAR this is true--none of them speak the same language I do--I SWEAR--WHAT????, HUH????? Did you say what I THINK you said--Well, back to the vaporizor and bed--Just thought I'd let you know I'm still alive now that the site is working again for the moment. Life is Good

Gosh, Nancy Lee, you are the queen of pnuemonia. I hope you feel better. Maybe YOU should move to Arizona!
It's funny. My internet provider/cable company, when I call them for help, they always make sure to say they're just down the interstate in San Marcos. Whether they are or not, or whether they imported a bunch of Texans to India, I guess I'll never know.....
Take care,
PJ -
You are right N.L. because when I call my cable co. they don't speak much English. Dell has always transfered the calls to India. I ask where about in India they are, what the weathers like and they tell me how beautiful it is there and ask me about the U.S. and how expensive it is to come here because of the money change. They are all saving to come here and visit. Once I got rerouted somewhere down S. America I think it was. Well P.J. I had 3 grandkids get I-Pods for x-mas and they used them about 3 months. They probably still do some times. We are leaving at 5a.m. so I have to get to sleep. Have a great wk. end girls. Janie I hope you are all settled in. I will write if my motel has internet. God only knows at some of these places. Later girls, Get well N.L. Hugs girls, Mary

Mary, oddly enough, when I go to a conference or something and stay in a hotel where I otherwise could not afford if I were the one paying for it, the internet etc. cost extra ... a lot extra, but in the more reasonably priced places, it is free. Go figure. However, I have AOL on my laptop and just use AOL travel and dial-up when traveling if they charge like $10 a day for internet; however, now they have started chargin for local calls and then so much a minute if you go over an hour. It's like everyone is trying to outsmart each other .... me how to go online without paying ridiculous fees and them trying to make sure they soak me for every penny possible.
Just returned from Relay for Life. It was very good. Still going on...it will last all night. I felt kind of weird when doing the survivor lap and people were standing on the sidelines cheering. I didn't really do anything except live.
Have a great weekend ladies. NL hope you get better soon. Hey PJ.
-
"I didn't really do anything except live." Thanks, Janie for making me
SMILE--and a darn good job you've done of it too!!! Gosh, I had to laugh to see your thoughts on the RFL--I carried the banner along with some other "inspirational" survivors this year and this really nice local boy who had survived a horrific cancer and the treatment for it was walking beside me and we got into the same kind of conversation about the people yelling and cheering on the sidelines. I think it rather embarrassed both of us for some reason at first and then we got to discussing it and we decided that "Yah, darn it, we did survive some pretty gruesome stuff and maybe, just maybe it's okay for people to stand up and cheer for that". I guess it's all in the way you look at it. Cough, cough, pneumonia better, but bacterial infection rages on. I'm not going to let a little thing like this get to me though.....new day....new meds.....new outlook on what matters in life.....oh, no.....new drugs are making me philosophical....this must stop...Life is Good

Okay, I don't know about the rest of you but seeing Shelli's post up there every time I log on to our thread just kinda rocks me. Here's the strangest coincidence of all--That very first post of the thread was on May 24, 2004--That's the day I started my chemo--cue the Twilight Zone music someone--I don't know--It's just an odd little thing--On the illness front--still coughing, but not so much yucky stuff--fever gone--feel good enuf that when I finish here and over at G's, I'm gonna go to town and put up the October stuff in my preschool room and get ready for tomorrow. I think I'll actually try work again tomorrow.
All our stuff for our fundraiser came in so maybe I can call parents and get that junk (I mean "fine
merchandise") out of my room. Actually I ordered some of the stuff and the things I got are really cute. That's the problem with fundraisers or book clubs--I end up ordering half the stuff. Well, best get back to surfing. Life is Super

Hey, NL, I know what you mean about seeing Shelli's post every time I log on. It's a sad jolt each time.
Glad you're feeling better. Hope you really do feel well enough to work, but be kind to yourself and don't overdo it!
Janie, you watching football this weekend? Hope Mary's selling a ton of stuff.
Not much up here. It's HOT! Dinner at mom's and then Nathan and I will make some more headway in reading the last Harry together. (My third time through it.)
Later girls -
Hey girls, hear ya on the beginning of our thread. N.L. sounds like you are feeling a little better, I am sure glad. I don't think much can get you down quite frankly. We did really good this wk. end. We go up north the next 2 wk. ends and this is reportdly a really big selling thingy, place or what ever it is. There will be over 100,000 people come through. My teeth are acting up again. I was trying to hold off until this thing the next 2 wk. ends is done but I don't know. They are bad. Janie, we had no internet. This was a little family owned Bates motel place. We are staying in the Supere 8 next wk. end because thats all we could get. There is only 2 motels and a cabin rental place that is full. We got the last room in town and the next wk. end we have to stay about 25 miles away in Peoria. We will have internet at Super8 but our bed will suck; like a peice of concrete. Oh well. P.J. enjoy your book again. I have to get, we just got in a while ago. Later girls. Hugs, Mary
-
Hey girls, I started to post earlier and the log in prompt popped up and I was too lazy to fool with it.
PJ I did watch some football this weekend. Many of the top ranked teams lost and shook up the whole works.
Mary, don't feel bad, my internet at home has been out. I used the old standby, dial-up. Living out here in the boonies does have its ups and downs.
Hope you sell lots of stuff. Maybe I had better go to bed since I have to get up soon. lol.
Later Ladies,
Janie

Hey Girls, I have been beading like a fool. I haven't felt real good and I hear it is a flu. Oh well, my tooth and jaw hurt so why not my joints and head. It is going to storm I think. It is cold in the morns. Damn cold weather. It warms up good in the afternoon though. They are getting rough weather all around us but nothing here yet. I am getting ready for the wk. end. We can't take the little spoiled dog so she will be real upset. She knows when we are leaving and cries like a human. We usually take her but we will be inside so we aren't taking her. back later, Mary
-
Mary, leave the little Mexican with a pitcher of margaritas and some tacos so she can have a good time while you all are gone.
You sure do catch every bug that comes along. Get better soon, ok?
NL are you better yet?
Hey PJ.

Well, it's been a hell of a week. Found out Monday night that one of my husband's good, longtime friends died. Then yesterday, my mom told me she'd been called back for a second mammo and ultrasound. She goes back in next week. Blech.
-
PJ, I pray that your Mom's results come back ok. So sorry about your friend.
It is sprinkling here and supposed to rain tomorrow with thunderstorms Friday.
Had a very long work day today so I may actually turn in before midnight.
Later,
JF
-
So it rained here yesterday and is supposed to start snowing for real this afternoon. SIGH
I woke up to 38 degrees and a wintery looking sky so the darn weatherman is probably right!
I took an AmbienCR at 8 pm last night and slept til 6 am this morning
I feel great!! I need to get back on schedule and do the 7 or 8 hours a night of real sleep. I think that maybe I'd get well faster if I did that.
I'm crazy so it doesn't compute that the body needs sleep to keep going. I'm off to the daycare for another day of fun
Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday--Life is Good

Hey Girls, I had to leave quickly the other eve and I never did get bac to my thread here. Sorry about the bad news P.J. and sending good vibes for mom's good results. Janie, hope you get some rest after the hectic day. We have to leave tomorrow about 11 a.m. Nancy, it is going to be in the high 80's here a little while longer, thank God! We are getting those damp cold Autumn mornings. Wow the spelling for Autumn just looks crazy, I must get the cobwebs out of my head. I had a sudden no idea how to spell that word. Gosh, its getting bad. I gotta get Have a great day girls, Mary
-
NL, it is still reaches the 80's here as well.
Mary, I DO THAT TOO. Can't remember how to spell, or I lose words, or names of people. Did not used to do that before chemo. I guess chemo brain hangs on till we meet St. Peter, and forget his name.
-
Janie, I have to keep a dictionary by my puter because when I remember what word I am looking for(well; when I think of a word close enough to what I want to say) I can't remember how to spell it. Sometimes it is the simplest word too. I am taking my laptop and I am putting it in the truck when I get done here so I don't forget it. Gotta get packed up so everyone have a great wk. end. We are getting 90's so it will be warm. Hugs, Mary
-
Have a great time Mary. Dictionary.com is a good resource to find a quick spelling etc. It also has a good thesaurus. I have it in my favorite places. However, sometimes I interchange words without knowing I do it. Then I read it later and see what I did.
Well, I was born and raised in TN and went to grad school at UGA. TN plays GA tomorrow.
I guess I could be positive and say I win either way it goes.
-
Hey Girls, whats up? We did so-so over the wk. end. This is a new craft spot so it takes a year or two for people to get used to it I guess, only us. They say people were making over a thousand dollars a day else where. We paid for our motel and food and thats about it(all of us at that spot did poorly). Oh well, this next wk. end will be better, I hope. Our temps. are dropping from 90 yesterday and 80's today then 62 tomorrow. That would feel like hot weather in the Spring but that will feel very cold in the fall after the warm weather. BURRRRR! Well maybe we will do better next wk. end. We go back to the same place(no refunds so we have to). This is a scenic drive and since the weather has been warm the trees are not turning so that may be affecting attendance. Oh well, we will see what next wk. end brings. We had a lot of people but they didn't seem to be buying much. Hows everyones wk. end? I bet no matter how cold it feels here N.L. is colder. Who won the game Janie? How many times have you read Harry now Paula? Hows Mom doing? I better get. Later girls, Mary
-
hi ladies,
hope all is well. haven't heard from some of you lately.
mary, i do hope you do better this weekend. i am waiting for a suite to become available where i used to have an office so i can make a little extra on the side. when i was in south ga, i had oodlums of outside referrals and was on my way to early retirement when bc reared its ugly head with tons of out-of-pocket expenses and a train ran through my tunnel that had a light at the end of it. oh well, i still fared better than most, so i will count my blessings. speaking of work, i must get outta here. later ladies. j
-
Hey, Janie, I might need some kind of mental health referral after all that's been going on. My bro-in-law died Sunday of throat cancer after being cared for at home for about a month. Our other friend died the weekend before. Mom has her appt. tomorrow, and not only do they have the imaging scheduled, but a surgeon. So I guess they must think whatever it is is cancer. I think I have PTSD.
Anyway, glad you and Mary sound good. Hope NL is well and didn't catch pnuemonia. Again.
Paula -
Gosh P.J. I am sorry you have so many stressful things going on. I hope Mom gets good news or at least it isn't terrible. She has you there so I am sure thats a great comfort and you know all the ropes. I am praying for better days P.J. N.L.; hope all is well with you. Janie, have you made the house home yet? Sleep well little fuzzy tails. It is chilly; I say chilly here girls. Hugs, Mary
-
Not too bad, but I'm freezing to the bone
. Yesterday it was in the 70's and people were running around in shorts. Today it didn't break 40 and the wind is blowing so hard that it almost blew me into the next county. I have the anemia thing going again so I'm cold all the time anyway and the weather is going to do us all in. I am going to take an AmbienCR and go to bed or reverse that so that I don't wake up in the bathroom!! That has never happened yet, but you can't be too careful!! I'm watching Bionic Woman. I think I liked the old one with Lindsay Wagner way better. Well, off to bed--Nite all--Life is Good
