Hey everyone, I am going to post this on several different threads so I can get a variety of answers.  I finished my chemo on 2/19/07 and I was recently asked a question and I can't remember.  A young girl my sons work with is doing a project for a class at school.  They are designing a cancer center that is going to be built.  They have to plan everything~including the menu for the cafe.  They are supposed to ask cancer patients what they ate during chemo and what totally turned their stomachs.  There is a chance, they will actually use the menu she comes up with up.  The only things I can remember that I really wanted were jelly beans and hamburgers when I was taking Taxotere.  I can't remember anything I wanted on while on A/C.  Can you all help me out?  I thought if she had input from some of the most wonderful people ever, if I might be more helpful than just jelly beans and hamburgers.  Thanks everyone.  I will let you know how she does.  The project is not due until Thanksgiving but I would like to give it to her as soon as possible.  Thanks again. ,  Bonny

I ate what ever I felt like on chemo.  I did pretty good actually.  The one problem I found is that I would get tired of the same thing.  For instance, I would never want what was in the fridge.  I would crave something else.  Then, once I had that, It made me sick to think of it.  I never got sick or threw up on chemo.  It was like mild pregnacy stuff.  Once I wanted orange soda.  Then, the rest of my chemo life orange soda made me sick to think about it.

I finished chemo about 5 weeks ago.  I remember that the first couple of treatments I lived on green pea soup with crackers--it was a comfort food from childhood.  I also drank a lot of water and often mixed in fruit juices.  I drank tons of gatorade.  I could not tolerate any sodas including ginger ale.  During the last few treatments I drank a lot of milk and ate a lot of ice cream.  Also plain noodles with butter or parmesan.

I lived on orange popsickles during the summer of 2006, when I had my six rounds of TAC. The smell of meat or fish made me sick. I also liked pasta with butter and parmesan cheese. The popsickles tasted really good because I got mouth sores during my treatment and they were soothing.
