Awesome, my hair cannot grow fast enought for me.
-
Isn't it funny that so many references say hair only grows 1/4 to 1/2" per month? At that rate, it looks like your hair has about 5 years' growth to it!
Hey, lady, you look great.

OMG, Mary, your hair is absolutely beautiful! And thank you for posting the pics. I remember when I was measuring each teeny-tiny bit of growth and was so encouraged when I saw how it really does come back!!!!

Hey Mary,
What a beauty queen you are! Your hair looks fabulous.
The picture in my avatar is pretty much what my hair looks like now. I have had tons of haircuts since I finished chemo in April of 05. The curls are finally gone although I did miss them at first but I sure don't miss the hell of straightening it.

Thanks girls! And yes it does grow Back!
-
Wow, your hair came in so pretty! Mine never looked like that ...and stil doesn't. I still have the dry, damaged-looking frizz and I'm four years out from chemo.
-
WOW your hair looks good. My Mom's does not look that good, hers is thin, fine and oily.

You should be the new Breck girl! ...... Hey how about BC Mary for BC Breck in a pink bottle ... j/k since it's October.
-
Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Wow! My head is getting big
Thanks, Breck girl Hmmmmmm
-
Your hair is beautiful! Is that the color it came back in? I was not one of the lucky ones who got "chemo curls" and I was sooooooo looking forward to them!
-
-
The silver is really pretty too, sometimes "grey" hair has a tacky look but yours looked silver, either way, gorgeous!
-
Gad, your 'box blonde' looks great!!!
I started out as
and today, 8 months after chemo, this is what it looks like:
and
. And this is when it's combed. "bed head" looks much more sparse (*laugh*). I haven't dared have a hair cut to trim and shape it because I'm afraid what I have will just disappear -- it's so thin.
-
Janet, mine came in like yours only straight. I thought it would take forever to get the God awful mess straightened out. My hairdresser suggested Nexium shampoo and conditioner and it helped immensely. In fact, I still use it.
-
I was hoping for thin hair, but got the same thick hair I have always had.
When my hair began to come out I shaved it bald...I wanted it to grow even and be all new hair.
Can't believe how much it has grown....
-
Thanks. It helps to know I'm not the only one.

-
maryL ,

Thanks Tawyna1......

Does anyone keep a hair scrapbook? I'm thinking of making one.
-
Maryl, your hair is gorgeous....Janet, my hair looks just like yours. I finished chemo Oct. 30 2006. I think I should get my money back on the chemo since I didn't get pretty hair afterwards
!
-
Hi, Mary. I haven't kept a hair scrapbook, but I did keep some scraps of my old hair before I had my head shaved. My new hair is so different...I'm glad I have that little ziploc bag of the old me.
you have beautiful hair, btw.
-
Mary...you just gave me inspiration!! My hair started growing back early September..and it is now over an inch long, and getting thicker every day! My hair grows fast. Hopefully...by next year this time, mine will be as long as yours!!
You go girl!!
Thanks!
Lisa

Wow, your hair looks great. I have to keep mine kind of short. Today at work someone refered to me as the office chia pet. The curls are getting more controlable.
-
Thanks to you all....
I had really curly hair at the start of the hair journey. I was really aggravated with it. So I got a hot iron and round brush that dries as it curls. It gave me more control, and it trains the curl.
I began to see my hair return to what it looked like before.
I'm on a mission to reclaim the old me. While going through treatments and surgery's I kinda let myself go a little to much.
And that began to be a bad habit.
Here is what I looked like when I had the "BIG C" fall on my lap.
