Hi everyone. My name is Lindy I am 25 and i have two small children a husband and what i thought was the most perfect life. That was intill last September I felt a lump and went to my doctor. he said it was nothing but we should have an ultrasound. everything still looked good but i wanted the lump out so i had a lumpectomy.  Everything still looked good untill two days later the doctors nurse called me on the phone and told me i have stage two cancer that what grade three (very aggressive). I said are you kidding. So after that all set in, i had a billateral mastectomy the next week and started chemo two weeks after that, i had tissue expanders placed at the time of my mastectomy. One week after chemo was finished my tissue expanders ruptured on friday the 13th of april. so I had them replaced with saliene implants. had a pet scan and it showed no cancer let. So then i go thought radiation and burn my skin to the point of bleeding and have sence healed nicly from that. I go in October for another set of scans just to be on the safe side. I feelvery healthy and don't feel sick at all.  My hair is starting to come back and it is streight and dark.I am not sure if i remember my original color. I have the worst time with chemo, i was very sick gaine d25 lbs and had an alergic reaction to taxol and almost died. But all of that is behind me. My kids are great my husband is a trooper and an angel and i once again love my life. if anyone out there needs someone to talk to I am here. I have been there and I am also a nurse so i have some of that knowledge with me too.  Thanks for listening my email is lindyw82@yahoo.com. I dont' ger a chance to get on here very often so if you want to chat email me.

    HI LINDY!

I ALSO HAD STAGE 2, GRADE3 AND I WAS DIAGNOSED WHEN I WAS 30 WKS PREGNANT.  I WENT THRU MY TREATMENTS AND SURGERY BUT FOR SOME REASON MY DOCTOR SAYS I DON'T NEED RADIATION.  WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Do the research, I did and I found that there is a 8-10% better chance of it nor returning with radiation treatment after a mastectomy. It only takes 15 minutes a day for 6 weeks, i wouls get a second and thierd opinion from a radiation oncologist and they make the choice that is best for you. I know I was not taking any chances.

I was dx at age 26, stage 2 Er+, HER2+++. Because I had bilateral mastectomies, I did not need radiation--the need for rads depends on how many lymph nodes you had that were affected-- if it's just the sentinal node, and you had a mastectomy, radiation may do more harm than good.

I'm a 3 yr survivor- about to turn 30 in a few weeks. Life really does go back to normal after a while--- just hang in there.

I was dx'ed at 24, had bilateral mastectomy and my sentinel node biopsy came up with only three microscopic affected nodes. I had radiation anyway as was recommended by my oncos.

Coming up on my 3 year anniversary... Anyway, just wanted to say that even though radiation only takes 15 minutes, it really sucks because it can cause fatigue and it is really super uncomfortable when your chest starts blistering and peeling off. Don't let that discourage you - I still did it - just wanted to bring that up

I am 23 years old and I was recently diagnosed with stage IV estrogen+ breast cancer. I have three spots on my liver. I am on monthly treatments of hormone therapy. I feel and look fine. I don't know what to expect. Will my health decline? I know that cancer in the liver is not good and I just don't know what kind of future I am looking at.
