Panchakarma treatments

Options

I finished chemo this past March and radiation in June for stage 1 BC. I booked myself a weekend at the Ayurveda Health Retreat in FL and will be doing Panchakarma treatments. I wasn wondering if anyone has done these and do you think it's fine to do 8 mos after chemo? I don't see why not b/c it's another form of detoxifying and cleansing your system just a holistic approach. I was triple neg so I am not on any meds now.

Here is site in case anyone else is interested. I am really excited to have an alone weekend and relax.

check out the website and read about the treatments. It's based on 5000 year old Indian healthcare (called Ayurveda) A lot of people are wary of holistic approaches and I am one of them. There was never a thought in my mind not to take chemo or do radiation. I've just been reading more on healthy eating (I only ate chicken & fish but cutting down on chicken, just more grains, greens and beans and I feel better)

Anyway, I saw this retreat and it caught my attention. They suggest a cleansing diet the week before which include herbs. I see my onc in October so I will ask him about them. I am just going to rejuvenate, relax, read, journal, bike, meditate and do yoga, I'm excited.

    Hugs

What I know about Ayurveda I've learned from books by Deepak Chopra.  I've changed some eating habits based on his information.  Also, I've been doing the _____ (can't recall the word) which is the head to toe self massage with sesame oil.  I don't have money for a retreat, but I can pamper myself at home.  Plus, I have hopes that the massage will reduce my risk of developing lymphedema.

I really like most of what Chopra writes in his books.  The quantum physics is pretty out there and make my brain cells short circuit.  The parts about Ayurveda I really like.  It just makes sense.  It's important for things to make sense to me.  Give us a report when you get back!  And have a great time!
