does anyone know if I take amoxicillan for an ear infection, I get them often is okay to take 5 days before my mastectomy?  It is not on my list of things to stop taking.

    Professionally speaking (I'm a nurse practitioner) it should not be a problem.

    But I'm not sure I understand. Will you be starting the Amox five days before surgery, which means if you do a standard 10 day course, you will have 5 days left post-op?

    Or, will you be finished with Amox five days before your surgery?

    If it's the first, be sure to run it by your surgeon's nurse--that's what they're there for!
