I don't know if you all remember me or not, but I have an update!

I seen a dermatologist, and he thinks I have Morphea. I dont know much about it, it could very well be the cause of the thickening of my skin and the large bump above my breast. If any of you know anything about this, any info would be appreciated. The derm also did two biopsies to eliminate cancer as a possibility and put my mind at rest. Apparently there is a cancer which mimics morphea, and he wants to make sure it isnt that. He really thinks it is morphea though. So I'm just waiting for results. He put me on a strong steroid ointment and I will probably have to use a cream for the rest of my life. But it is much better than cancer and I am thankful to finally have some possible answers. Hopefully the biopsy results come back fine.

    Well I remember you well, Beedee. It's been a long time.



    You had a skin change and swelling above your breast at the gentle age of 19, and it worried you tremendously, like it would most of us. Between your youthfulness and the medical system, you were having a difficult time getting the problem attended to, including biopsy.



    So delighted to hear that a dermatologist has weighed in and thinks it might be Morphea (I wonder if that means changing). I haven't heard of it, and will indeed look this up. Glad you insisted on the biopsies from the get go, and he did do them.



    You are very wise for 19, not turning your head on a problem, insisting that medical evaluation be obtained, and getting biopsies done so someone can look under the microscope at them. As difficult as this journey has been for you, Beedee, I feel strongly you have learned a life lesson, and confidence in yourself that will carry on into your older years in a very positive way.



    Thanks for getting back to us. I plan on checking our Morphea myself to learn a little bit.
