Any triathletes out there ?
Just checking to see whether there are other tri-geeks out here lurking.

I was actually training for my first tri at Disney World when I found my lump
Needless to say, I didn't get to do the tri. But after my chemo is done I am hoping to get back to the gym to start training again.

Hey Ginger so nice to find a fellow tricopath .. ehem triathlete.. Disney World is 20 mins from my house maybe once we are over it we can do one together there.
When is your treatment going to be over ? my eta is February 2008 ( if no rads) march 2008 ( if rads ) starting on the 27th.
I was diagnosed 3 weeks after I finished Ironman Austria.

That sounds like a great idea!!! We can do a tri to reward ourselves for making it through treatment. I'm about 30 miles from DW up in Altamonte Springs and I work downtown Orlando.
Who did you choose for your oncologist??
Wow...and Ironman...now I feel whimpy:)

Hey Ginger,
I live in Hunters Creek by Sea World !Went the Kundalini Yoga Center at Altamonte for a healing session a couple of weeks ago. (am planning to go again sometime since I can not go to my regular power yoga sessions yet at College Park Yoga). As a carrot I have registered for the National Marathon to Fight Breast Cancer that is on February 17th at Jacksonville it might be an overzealous goal considering that I might still be getting rads then but thought that I could at least walk / jog as much as I can then get a ride back I am sure they will have provisions for that in this race. It might be a great event to just even hang around.
Then in May I probably will shoot for the Danskin tri at WD.
Re: oncologist.. I was working with a cancer center which drove me nuts so as of next Thursday I am starting my chemo with Dr. Molthrop with Florida Hospital. I originally was trying to go with Dr. Moroose but she retired just as I was about to switch. I kind of like Dr. Molthrop even better than her though. Who are you working with ?
Nahh.. I am just incredibly stubborn and do not give up thats why I am able to pull of the Ironmans. no speed demon here just barely make the cutoffs usually.
I used to ride with the Bobbies have you heard of them ?
They want me to do the Davids Breast Cancer Awareness Ride on October 13th but it will be 2 days after my 2nd chemo and am not sure whether I will be able to do the 10 miler even.
oh oh just realized I am rambling on and on.. this is what happens when i can not sleep and hit the internet at 4 am.lol. Let me know if you decide to do any of these events or if you know of other exciting ones around.. I also am thinking about starting a thread in the fitness forum.
Have a great sunday !
