I did not realise that there was such a community. I am a Canadian living in the UK. Originally from NFO I have lived in the UK for over 20 years....I was just a young thing when I came over! Anyway, I was diagnosed with breast cancer just over 3 years ago.....not cured but it is not giving me a problem at the moment. Still going strong....must be my Canadian roots that keep me so grounded!

There are lots of Canadians on this site - and quite a few women from the UK too.  Welcome!  It's great to hear that you are doing well after 3 years.  Even though you are new to the site, you can probably offer a lot of good advice and ease a lot of the concerns of those who are newly diagnosed.

Canadian women who are looking for support can now access a support group through an internet chat or a free teleconference group.  If you were diagnosed within the last 3 years you can participate in a  six-week pilot  telephone or online support group.  If you are a young woman <40, a special group is being formed as well.

These groups are being held this fall and will be facilitated by experienced support facilitators. All you need is a Telephone or Internet Access.   To learn more, or participate in this pilot, please contact:

Kathy Thompson, Project Coordinator:  1-888-837-9071 or by email at info@cancersupportnetwork.ca
