You know, I had forgotten I had even posted here back in December of 2007. My sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer six months after our bother died of colon cancer. The cancer was in the lymph system but had not spread to any other organs. She had chemo, then surgery ( a mastectomy), then more chemo, then radiation and is doing well. Unbelievably, I was diagnosed on July 8th of this year! Found in a routine mamogram. I only know the type, IDC, no stage yet. Scans to determine if it had spread were Friday, results on Tuesday. Forgive me for not knowing the correct terminology and I have no idea what half of the initials stand for. At this point all I know is I HAVE BREAST CANCER and am terrified. Reading these posts do help a lot. Thanks for letting me vent. It sounds weird, although I am so sorry for what you are going through, at the same time, it helps to know I am not alone. Is that horrible of me?

My sister was also recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She has just seen the surgeon and he is suggesting she have an MRI to make sure it is not were else and then lumpectomy followed by 30 some radiation treatments. My mother died from breast cancer so I am terrified for my sister. Even though I think she caught it in time. My mother had stage II and still died from it.

Sorry to hear about your sister. My sister was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer last two weeks. I am so terrified for my sister, and wonder how your sister is doing. I hope she is fully recovered.
