Hey Girls, I have been busy getting ready for another craft show this wk. end. We will leave Fri. morning and be back Sunday night late. This is south of us about 2 hours on the Indiana boarder. We are getting ready to take the dog for her daily walk in one of the parks so I have to hurry. I just wanted to stop in and see how everyone is doing. Later, BURRRRR alreaady. Hugs Mary
-
You're right--Brrrr, except it was so nice today that we got to take the kids outside to play. It's supposed to maybe do the S word tomorrow so this might have been our last day without coats and boots and mittens and all that good stuff. My brother stopped by the daycare today on his way back from safety meetings in ND. Well, I gotta go find the title for the pickup I sold at my auction in July. I still haven't gotten it to the guy and he's driving me nuts calling. I just haven't been able to exactly find it yet!! Life is Good

Snow? Ugh. It was a lovely 60-something here this morning. It was great. And it didn't get very warm. I'm loving it, but much colder. I dunno.....
Hope you all have a great Thursday (hey, it's NEARLY friday). And Mary, hope you sell loads at the show. Really would like to see some of your stuff.
Not much up here. Work and homework and reading before bed seems like about all I fit in these days. Oh, and mammo in the morning.... -
Good Morning Ladies!
We will be with you in spirit today PJ. Those mammos seem to roll around quickly.
I went to the American Idol concert last night. It was so good. Everybody is much better in person than on TV. They put together an awesome show.
I gotta git. Have a good Thursday everyone. It is Thursday, isn't it?
Hugs,
Janie

Hey girls, I got the lap top running. We bought it like in March and we never used it but tried last wk. end and the Free 3 months of Norten expired so I down loaded it today and learned how to operate it. It has the new Windows Vista which I don't see any diff. but I haven't really used it yet. Anyhow, I wil be able to gab while away. It has wireless but I will have to get on at the hotel. Hope everyone stays warm and lordy not the S word!!!! burrrr for sure. Hugs, later, Mary

There's a Frost warning out for tonight. I don't have a garden this year so I'm not worried. I did take the air conditioner out of the window tonight and tidied up my little garden shed. I guess I'm ready for whatever happens weatherwise. I leave early in the morning for a day at the hospital. I have early bloodwork--then the post surgical checkup with the OB/GYN--then bone scans--then my ONC monthly--then I will leave from there and take my pickup to Plentywood to get the couch that I bought at last week's garage sale. It was supposed to cost $125 and then she knocked it down to $75 an hour before the sale ended and on Sunday when we went to get our tables and our stuff that didn't sell--her husband was picking up their stuff and he sold me the couch for $25!!!! It is the coolest big comfy flowered couch with these 4 great big cute pillows. I LOVE it and I was going to pay the $75, but gosh, what a deal because I messed around and waited til the next day. I guess that one person's junk is really another person's treasure. Now I just have to figure out how to get it into the house when I get it home!!! Gotta do some daycare bookwork and get to bed. Have a lovely end of the week and weekend ladies and I'll be back on Sunday night. Life is Great--Smiles--NancyLee
-
What a deal Nancy Lee! I love big ol comfy couches and do not have one. My font looks big this morning. Oh well, I will go with the flow since I do not have time to change it. It is still in the 80's here so cool weather is going to be a ways down the road.
-
Hi girls,
Nancy hope all goes great with the doc, etc., today.
Janie, I'm with you in relishing what I think is almost perfect weather. When we get to the 50s/70s, I'll be in heaven.
I'm SOOOOO glad it's Friday. It's been one of those weeks.
Mary, have a great time. Good for you for figuring out those laptops. I can't stand them. Have to have a mouse to use....
Good Friday, girls,
Paula -
Hey ladies
It is now 79 and expected to reach 83. Low is said to be 57, so needless to say it is mild here after some thunderstorms yesterday. One blew up very quickly yesterday afternoon, catching yours truly in the school parking lot. I was drenched with dripping hair and saturated clothes. It only lasted a few minutes, just long enough. It stormed some more last night.
Paula, this year has been somewhat difficult for us as well (at work). So many changes are taking place and there is so much confusion and having to make allowances for this, that and the other.
Enjoy the games if any of you watch them. I will watching TN-FL this afternoon. I guess I need to do some things before then.
Later Ladies,
-
Hey Girls, glad everyone is doing good. Praying for good reports for P.J.'s mammo and N.L.'s check ups. I get kinda screwed up on this lap top because of the whole mouse thing but I have to use a laptop when I am at my daughters in Az. so I am kinda used to it. This has been one of the best Festivals we have been to. They have had really good entertainment all day and evening. We are only breaking even with the motel and food and price of gas but it has been nice and we have had fun. We still have today so maybe things will pick up. Others have told us this has been a bad year for crafters and venders. I think people just don't have the money to spare. Oh well. It has been in the low 40's at night and low 70's in the day and I freeze after the sun goes down. I take a sweatshirt and jacket and wish I had brought a blanket. Now it is going to get in the 80's again next wk. Oh well . Have a great Sunday girls and I will check in when I get home. Gotta get. hugs, Mary
-
Hey everybody,
You probably already know it, but there are remote mouses (mice? lol) that you can get to go with a laptop. They work like the others but do not have the cord. I use a laptop at work and am used to the mouse but I am thinking of getting a number keyboard since I have to type a lot of numbers and score protocols etc. on mine. You can get those for it too.

Howdy girls, It is warm again. Man my allergies are going nuts. I darn near have to walk around with a tissue stuck in my nose. I have to get busy making jewelry. We are doing a small show this wk. end not far from home(about a half hour away). The next wk. end we will be about an hour and a half away so we will have to stay. Thats getting expensive. Not much new here except my hair color. It washes out and every couple days it is lighter. I always have a new color. Well I better get for now. I had grandkids this eve, I am pooped. I shall return. Hope everyone is staying cool again. Hugs, Mary
-
Hey, girls,
Mary, I know exactly what you're talking about. In fact, many times i HAVE walked around with a kleenex up my nose (and gone to sleep with it, too). It's very attractive.
Mammo results came back just fine today.
Mary, hope the shows go great and you rake in the big bucks. Is there an Arizona trip on the horizon?
Janie, how're things in the peach state?
NancyLee, how're YOU doing?
All's great here. I'm off work tomorrow and Nathan gets done early, so we're doing lunch with my mom and then I'm taking him for an eye check. Poor kid, he'll almost certainly have to get glasses one day soon. -
Hey P.J. there is a bright side, they have Drake and Josh glases, Hannah Montana glases(my grandaughter wants) and all the other Nick and Disney kids show people and cartoons. There is a down side, you may have to mortgage the house to buy them. My grandaughter want s to go to a Hannah Montana concert. She is in St. Lou and Chicago and Az. and 30 other cities BUT, the tickets are all sold out unless you want to pay $1000.00 or more a ticket from the scalp places. They shouldn't be aloud to do that. Maybe next time. Really glad your mammo was clear. We are going to keep them that way.Horrah; Mary
-
Hey Mary, Were you at the Preble County Pork Festival last week-end? Just wondered because I was there and it's on the Indiana border. It's a huge craft show and we've been going there for about 15 years now. Just curious.
Debbi
-
Mary, they were just talking about them on the radio yesterday morning. There is a concert in Atlanta and the tickets were gone before they even started officially selling them. People should not buy from scalpers and force them to keep all the tickets at a big loss.
-
Debbi, We were at Marshall Il at the Autum Fest. and we are going to Paris Il. the last wk.end in Sept. Both towns are just a few miles from Terre Haute. Are you in Indiana? I think the Pork Fest is on the other side of In. Janie, I wish I had known they were selling concert tickets for Hannah Mont. A.K.A. Miley Cyrus because I would have gotten some. Maybe I will get some eventually. I just think it is wrong that the scalping places buy the tickets and that keeps the kids from getting them. Illinois has a law that you can't make a profit selling tickets for Il productions in Il.by indivauls so on E-bay it says, buy a Hannah Montana poster for $600.00 (etc) and get a ticket free. I think scalping is wrong and worse when its a kids show. There are a lot of kids that can't go because of the scalpers. Oh well, always a day late and a dollar short. I went to several ticket sites and they were all about $600.00 a ticket. Well I have been busy making jewelry all day. I get kinda fidgety sometimes. I take a trip to get a fountain coke or run to Wally. Is that how you spell fidgety? I forgot, I am truley surprised I remembered the word at all actually; it was though drilled into my head as a child, stop fidgetting in Chruch or I will take you outside and beat your butt then bring you back in. Hubby has wanted a pack of gum for 4 days(I kept forgetting) so today was his lucky day. He bought himself a pack while at the gas station filling out the loan papers for a tank of gas. Il. gas averages over $3.00 a gal. We have higher prices than Az. Our gas seldon gets under $3.00 Thank God they let people take out second mortages at the pump, it does away with having to go all the way to the bank. Hope N.L. is just working a lot and not sick. Hope you had a good day off P.J. Janie, I will have to get some pics. of my jewelry and send. I have to get my default e-mail fixed. We have some newer neighbors. It is a single mother parent. The youngest boy is 6th. grade and he comes over and plays with my 5th. grade grandson Bailey. This brave young man next door came over twice now asking hubby to fix his bike tire. I watched with much anxiety as the boy rode up and down the street waiting for the tire to fall off. The poor little guy has no clue. He thinks hubby is great, he fixes his bike. It is a matter of time before it falls apart. This little guy stands right beside hubby while he is wood working just watching then sits and talks the whole time hubby is painting. Frankly the little guy must be really bored because I can't even stand to hang around hubby that long. Well I better get, King of Queens will soon be on. Sleep tight everyone. Hugs, Mary
-
Really, Mary, you should have your own standup comedy show..... Your tale of the kid and the bike is hilarious....
Some friends of mine got Hannah Montana tix for the mom and daughter. But, yeah, they had no hope of getting them at the designated selling time and ended up buying scalped tix. For I think about 250 apiece or something. OUCH!
Me? I'm bribing Nathan not to have a party again. He gets more cash for agreeing to just take a couple friends to Chucky Cheese (thereby saving ME money and the pain of cleaning up after a party or whatever) to put toward the ipod he's saving for. How bad is that?
Later girls, have a good one,
Paula -
Way to negotiate Paula! I used to do that sort of thing. Still do sometimes. Mary, when do you do your overnighter? Eager to see your wares on here or email.
Hey Nancy and whomever else is lurking.
Have a good evening,
Janie
-
I haven't been lurking. This is the first time I've been back here since back on the 13th. I've been a little sick. My incision from the hysterectomy hasn't healed like it should probably because I have that "compromised immune system" to deal with. When I had my bloodwork for my onc appt., it was all screwed up. My WBC is in the dumper and I'm anemic at the same time. Wow!! Huh?? My potassium is back in the low range again and I have to take stupid pills again. He also prescribed pills for my neuropathy and I think that may be a little of the reason for the yuckies that I have. That along with the potassium pill which never agreed with me. I'm going back to the hospital tomorrow to have more bone scans because he wants to "err on the side of caution" with something in my shoulders. SIGH. I'm tired. I also kinda defected over to Gina's site because it's a heck of a lot easier to get onto and it doesn't have so many hoops to jump through. And I can type my messages in Periwinkle!! Besides that her webpage is Pretty!! The only drawback is that you all are not over there so I came back here. I see that we lost our Shelli yesterday. I guess I have no words for that except I hate cancer. Really really really hate it. I'm going to take my dizzy little body to bed. I'll let you know what tomorrow's tests tell me. Glad to see that your mammo was good, PJ, and doubly glad that I don't have to ever go through one of those again. NOW they just announced that GMC where I had mine now offers SOFT mammos. Thanks a ton you guys--after the fact!! Well, I'm really off to bed. Nite--and even with all the crap--Life is Good--Smiles--NancyLee
-
Nancy Lee, Sorry you are having such a rough time. I did not mean you are a lurker. When re-reading it, I guess it sounded that way. I know several people read our posts because they enjoy our banter. lol. And that is ok. I was just saying hey to them too.
Later,
Janie
-
Gosh, Janie, did I sound mad?? I didn't mean to make you apologize. I now have pneumonia due to working at the daycare with a low WBC, I guess. I'm taking meds and get to stay at home unless it gets worse. Had a really high--101.5 fever last night, but am better this evening. Going to take more meds and go to bed. Just thought I'd check in here. Life is still good--Smiles
NancyLee
-
Where are you guys?? I don't see you over at Gina's site. I know it's hard to get on here. I feel SO much better today.....ah, the wonders of modern medicine. I had to get my handy pill minder out again because I started not remembering if I'd taken my Gabapentin in the middle of the day and with the addition of the antibiotic....oh, well, the little chemo brain couldn't remember so I got the little pill thingy and filled it up for the entire week. That should help. I lost my earring today and when crawling around on the floor around the bed looking for it, I saw a paper sticking out from under the dresser and I found some car papers that I've been looking for for a couple of months. I also found the missing earring in my bed. My sister said I was meant to lose the earring so I'd do the search thing and find the papers. Life is strange at times--Hope you all had a great weekend. Life is good

Hey Girls, I have been doing a craft thing so we left early and got home late. We did o.k. Everyone says this year has been not real good, of course it's not real good, we got into the craft circuit. Wow, it is great to know you are bad luck, at least there are no surprises. I hear ya on the whole feeling bad thing N.L. I have been told my blood counts are not as good as they should be. They did get me an apt. for a second opinion with another endrocronologist, it is in March!!!! I have to decide if I want surgery or not way before March. I don't want to wait that long. (thyroidectomy) P.J. when we are at these craft shows hubby is always trying to help people out. He brings a power drill, hammer, small saw, and all kinds of things. I just pull my hair out when someone comes along and asks if we have a hammer or can help them. Hubby usually is there before they can ask. He is a law suit waiting to happen. He tries really hard though, he just don't know for sure what the heck he is doing sometimes. He does help a lot though. On our way there today I look up from the passengers side and we are bumping down the side of the ditch and he is fiddling with the serius radio. He reads the sports scores!!!! Excuse me; isn't that dangerous? I don't care to test the airbags...Gosh, Ya know my cancer won't kill at all; he will! Ah, sometimes I do lurk. I jump on and don't have time to write but I catch up and make sure everyones o.k. Whats Gina's website? I have never been there. Janie, girlfriend, hows the arm? Is it any better? It has been a while with the new sleave so I am wondering how it works. I have to get to bed because my neck hurts, Later girls. Hugs, Mary
-
Mary, actually I like the sleeve off the shelf best --- the one that they gave me while I waited on the custom-fitted one to arrive. It is mesh while the custom-made is rubber as is the glove. I think the one off the shelf holds me tighter and more comfortably. My arm is swelling again, but I do not see much sense in going through all that again. I will deal with it myself. I really wish they would hurry and get the laser TX in this neck of the woods so I could give it a try. It's sort of hard to forget bc with this constant reminder. oh well, you guys have a great week. Mary, good luck in making the best decision. You certainly need some good luck coming your way for a change. How is your son doing?
-
NL, Too bad you didn't find, say, 50,000 bucks you'd accidentally lost months ago....
What is Gina's site?
I think I've finally got this one down, altho it makes me so mad I have to log in each time. So therefore, half the time I don't.
Mary, so is Arizona off as far as moving down there? I wonder if they have craft shows down there. Well, of course, they must, right? How's hubby doing healthwise these days (besides negatively impacting yours)?
Janie, I wish they'd get that laser treatment around here, too. I'd feel less guilty about not wearing my sleeve.....
Beautiful weather down here. Trying to decide whether to get Nathan what he REALLY wants (an iPod) for his big 10th birthday. Should I make him save or shall I just give it to him?
Later girls,
PJ -
Hi--I just e-mailed all of you the link to Gina's site. It's SNOWING lightly here---Yuck to the Nth degree. I hate snow and this is September. Too early for this kind of nonsense. Mary, maybe you can get a shirt or a sign or something to put on Tim the Toolman that says, "Not responsible for Accidents" That way you'd feel a little more calm when he heads off with tools in hand because you'd be covered legally. I'm still coughing and blowing my nose and doing the pneumonia at home thing so I think I'll trudge back to bed with a bowl of popcorn and a good book. Hope everyone is having a great Monday. Life is Good
